(Chapter 12)
Frost bitten fingers and peppermint coffee~*~
Author POVIt had been a particularly cold week. Jimin had been going on jogs to keep in shape, though they often left him with fingers that felt cold enough to have frostbite.
Snow had begun to fall as the winter seasons reached their peak. There had been a bunch of new drinks he had to learn to prepare for the shop. Occasionally it felt like the letters ran into eachother in one inky mess.
But he persevered, learning the drinks. Till he knew the orders off by heart, he had even started to learn the regular customers and their orders. He often took his lunch break in the corner of the shop, they had set a table up for staff.
The window allowed him to be closer to the man who continued to play the guitar despite the sub zero weather. His fingers were often purple by the end of his playing session.
Jimin had taken to buying two cups of coffee or whatever he felt inspired by at the end of the day. Giving one to the man as he passed by, the man always absorbed in putting away his guitar and he was never fast enough to catch up to Jimin.
The routine was nice, comfortable. Jimin had fallen into it with ease, he liked it alot.
He had just reached the end of his shift, he had some gingerbread latte, it had been the most popular drink of the day, so he had decided to try it.
He waited until the man began to play his next song, with the mask covering his face, he had found it a good way to keep his face warm, and a woolen hat over his head, the only think visible was his eyes. So unless someone knew it was him, he was pretty much impossible to identify.
He dropped the cup off beside the guitar bag the man had left out for spare change to be dropped. He often dropped the coins from his shift and left the notes in his pocket.
The man gave him a blue lipped smile, and continued to play. Jimin savoured the music till he was out of ear shot.
He hadn't written any notes to the other students. He had been full up with a tightly packed schedule, that left no real time for breaks. He was unaware of the students who were practically begging for the small but significant letters to be offered.

With the semester coming to an end with the beginning of the winter holidays. Jimin had taken to doing more shifts at the cafe. He was a good worker and reliable too, so had formed a good relationship with his boss because of it. She easily handed over more shifts to the eager student.
Jimin hadn't felt so lonely though, everyone in the dorms were packing up to go home and celebrate with their families.
Jimin didn't have that, he would he facing a Christmas alone, at least at the orphange they would have a donation of toys and clothes from local charities as gifts to the children. He no longer fit into that.
He had bought himself a box of chocolates as a treat to himself. They were sitting on his top shelf. He had already taken the shift to work on Christmas Eve, Christmas day and boxing day. He had seen some of his colleagues sad that they couldn't celebrate the holidays with their families due to their shifts. So Jimin had offered to swap, their smiles had been worth it.
Jimin knew it was foolish, but he decided to write to the 5 unknown men and Taehyung. The notes were a distraction method, but they were comforting in a sense.
He had sat down to pen out some holiday messages, simple but heart warming in the holiday spirit. He had even added little doodles on the page of Christmas themed items. His favourite had been alittle snow man, with snowflakes falling around him.
He had dropped the notes off in their respective mailboxes before heading to his shift at the cafe. It felt good, he was rolling on a happiness high. Though he was yet to become close friends with any of his companions on his course, this felt like he was confiding in someone.
With Taehyung it almost felt like he had his best friend back, in a way at least.

Unknowingly Jimin had brought the simplest of happiness to the 6 men he had decided to bestow a note upon. The simple kindness of a few words just for you to cheer you up, was one of the most heart warming acts a person could do. At least that was how it felt to the receivers.
He had even taken to doing the same at work, the coffee shop while a popular one had it's slow moments, so Jimin took the time to draw out little Christmas items on the take away cups so the customer would have just a little more cheer in their day.
He always did it on the cups that were not being used in the moment, but when the shop had its quiet moments he would sit down and express himself in those little drawings.
In an overly cheery jumper and a face mask, he served the customers. Though he felt his eyes widen when one of the recipients of his notes entered the cafe.
"Peppermint coffee please" he requested pulling out his card to pay.
"Sit in or take out?" Jimin tried his best to not allow his voice to waver at the sight of the man up close.
"Take out please" the man's smile was calming in a way.
"Could I have a name for the cup?" Jimin asked as he began to set up the till for the payment.
"Jin" the man, Jin, stated.
"That'll be 3,500₩ please" The man quickly swiped his card and Jimin went off to make the drink.
It was only in that moment when he panicked, because what if the man was able to figure out his handwriting from the cup.

Am I posting a Christmas themed chapter in February, yep. But I wanted to have the holiday in the book, plus I am trying to get through the time, so that I can do Valentine's day notes.
I hope you liked the chapter.
