(Chapter 22)
Heavy weightsTW: This speaks a bit about body images and weight loss
~*~
Author POV
Jungkook had been pushing himself too far recently. He wanted to be a top tier athlete, that meant keeping himself in good shape and improving on it constantly. After the holidays when he had gone home, he had eaten too much food and no longer reached the desired appearance he wanted. So as a result he had been pushing himself past his limits to lose the excess weight. He was currently in the gym, his body was aching and he was about ready to collapse in agony from how far he had pushed himself past his comfort zone and capabilities. He just had to lift one more weight and he would be finished.
Just one more.

Jimin was just leaving the gym, he had a paid membership curtesy of the university. He could make use of the facilities due to his dance course, it held rooms suitable for training and practice.
Upon entering the downstairs section of the gym he noticed the man he had written letters to in the past. He was shaking a lot as he bench pressed the weights, Jimin could see he was bright red and sweating profusely. Then he reacted before he thought about it, when he saw the man's arms give out to overuse. The exhaustion finally catching up to him and his body no longer able to cooperate.
Jimin dropped his gym bag, and was there to assist the man in lifting the weight off his chest that was rising and falling rapidly from exertion. Once it was securely locked in the rack he saw the man give a wheeze of pain.
"Are you okay?" Jimin crouched down so he was at the man's head height.
"Yeah" came the huffed response.
"You should stop now, you are going to hurt yourself" Jimin suggested.
He had to learn about the mechanics of the body and how to best care for it as one of his university modules. So he understood about the muscles and the damage they could suffer if pushed or pulled them for too long.
The man struggled to pull himself up, he then stood and almost collapsed as his legs violently shook. He was too exhausted was Jimin's assessment from the man's struggles.
"Would you like me to help you?" Jimin asked, ever the good natured person that he was.
The man seemed reluctant to wanting help but when he tried to rise only to fall again he nodded his head in reluctant acceptance.
"Where would you like me to take you?" Jimin asked as he took the man's arm across his shoulders. The exhausted man lent his weight heavily against the smaller man.
The man was clearly unsure what to share.
"I'm Jimin, I live in West campus accommodation" Jimin thought if he established himself it would ease the man's worry and to his relief it did.

Jimin. This could be no coincident. Jungkook remembered the look on Taehyung's face when the name Jimin was mentioned in the club. Then later that week he had gone out and exclaimed that he had met with Jimin once again.
Taehyung had told them how he was best friends with the man in their briefly shared childhood together. The friendship bracelet around his wrist permanently now made sense, when he had been reluctant to share the significance of it before, reuniting with his friend made him willing to share and open up.
The same bracelet, well a similar design was on Jimin's wrist. So that was enough proof for Jungkook to share he lived in the same accommodation building. Jimin smiled and nodded like he knew that fact already, he supposed Taehyung might have shared that fact when they talked, so he brushed it off.
So they set off after Jimin assured him that he too had been on his way to leave so it would be no issue helping him back. Jungkook felt ashamed of how much he lent his weight into Jimin's side, his legs barely felt like they were attached to him, so jelly like.
They made their way back like that, Jungkook hobbling along. The gym was owned by the university, as it was a university that specialised in arts and sports. It was almost a necessity so it was provided for all the students attending for free, but they also allowed paid public in as well, as it brought funds in.
So that made sure it wasn't too far away from the accommodation, for that Jungkook was grateful.

They made their way inside the entrance to the West accommodation. There was a reception for students checking in and out and for security. So there was some sofas for comfort in the entrance, they both collapsed backwards onto one of said sofas.
"Thank you" Jungkook huffed out.
"No problem" Jimin also seemed tired, Jungkook wasn't a light man and to have held his body weight up for a 15 minute walk was impressive.
They both sat in silence for the next few minutes, catching their breath. Both tired from both the gym and the walk.
"Do need a hand to your room?" Jimin asked.
"No I should be fine, I'll take the lift up" Jungkook dismissed the offer. Jimin accepted it without offense, for which he was glad.
"Well be safe, take the lift not the stairs" Jimin stood up, offering his caring words.
"I definitely owe you one, just come and ask me if you need any help in the future I'm in 401" Jungkook stated, he liked Jimin and he could definitely see why Taehyung and him were best friends.
"I will thank you, bye" Jimin waved over his shoulder as he disappeared up the stairs and out of his sight.
Jimin certainly was an interesting person, at least in Jungkook's eyes he was. He seemed to offer help easily, Jungkook doesn't think he would meet another person who was willing to help a stranger as much as Jimin had just helped him. He had just practically carried Jungkook's weight back 15 minutes and not asked for anything in return.
Yes, Jungkook was certainly intrigued.
