(Chapter 30)

It was the weekend after everything went down that they agreed to go on a date together. With everything in the open it felt like they all had a better understanding of one another. A sense of calm and comfort had settled over the group.

Jimin linked hands with Namjoon who was wearing his special sunglasses to prevent the sun from reaching his eyes, they helped with his migraines. Jimin's hand was forced to swing a larger distance to match the taller man's walking speed. 

They had taken the train (Jin paid for Jimin and Yoongi's tickets) to the seaside. Daecheon beach was 3 hours from Seoul, but it had everything they wanted. So they had made the journey, especially when Jimin mentioned that he hadn't been to the beach ever since he moved from the Busan orphanage when he was very young. The heat of the summer sun was warm against their skin. 

Jimin's eyes lit up with joy as he saw the vast sea stretched out before them. He began to pull Namjoon down to the sea, their hands still intertwined. Jungkook and Taehyung followed them down to the sea as Jin, Yoongi and Hoseok began to establish their place upon the sand.

Several towels were set up and an umbrella place above to create shade. Jin had gone to his parents house to get the gear for the beach as they lived the closest, plus they wouldn't be needing it anyway as they were on another business trip. 

Eventually the 3 oldest members of the group relaxed onto the towels, this date and day out was also acting as a break in studying. Exams were coming up soon, for some it was their final year in the university. Some needed high exam scores to get into the next year and some had exams that counted towards their final grades. They had all be working hard and with the added stress of not communicating with all members of the relationship fluidly they were all overworked and tired.

The day out at the beach should act as form of relaxation and time to take their mind off everything. 

"Pass the sun cream, if you insist upon sitting in the sun Hoseok, you'll need it" Jin ushered the youngest of the three present towards him. He came without complaint, allowing the eldest to carefully apply the cream to his face, neck and arms. 

Yoongi had curled up on a towel beneath the shade, intent on having a nap. The warm weather often made him sleepy, and this was just the right time and condition where he could indulge the urge to sleep. 

Hoseok went back to his previous spot, lying out in the sun. Content that he wouldn't burn Jin pulled out a book. While he wasn't the most avid reader, he liked it upon occasion. Namjoon had recommended the book to him, seeing the younger man's face light up when sharing the book had made him curious, wanting to share the passion he promised to read it.

Meanwhile Taehyung and Jungkook are standing waist high in the water seeing who can made bigger waves of water at each other. Whereas Jimin and Namjoon are crouched beside the rockpools, with hope of seeing some sea life. Specifically crabs, Jimin learnt of Namjoon's fascination with them a while ago, so they were waiting for any sign of some. 

"Look" Jimin directed Namjoon's gaze, pointing out a hermit crab in a rockpool close by. Jimin and Namjoon continued to watch the crab potter about in it own little world. Small smiles upon their faces at the tranquil setting and scene. 

They continued to look into the rock pools, Taehyung and Jungkook eventually joining them when they began to get too cold from the sea water. Eventually they were called for at midday by Jin, insisting they ate lunch. The eldest of the group had stayed up late into the night preparing a small feast for the group.

Curled up on the towels they feasted together. Namjoon sharing the pictures he took of the crabs with Hoseok and Jin. While Taehyung and Jungkook shivered wrapped in towels, the water still on their skin exposed to the wind cooling them down. 

Jimin leant into Jin's side, eating his served portion of food, humming happily after all Jin was a good cook, no one in the group would refute that.

The rest of the day passed much the same and eventually they boarded the train back to Seoul. The youngest three of the group promptly fell asleep for the 3 hour journey. They had engaged in a water battle and it had worn them out. 

Jin and Namjoon talked quietly about Jin's progress into the book he had been reading. Namjoon excitedly pointing out his favourite parts and interpretations, Jin would never not be impressed by Namjoon's mind and his way of seeing the world. 

Hoseok reclined in his own seat, his headphones playing the music of his final exam dance piece. His eyes were closed picturing each movement in his mind with each note in the song. Hoseok often liked to free style his dances, but university classes required set choreographies, the memorisation did not concern him, it was more the feeling and flow of the dance under pressure. He saw the same thing in Jimin and they often practised together.

Yoongi listened to his own music, simply relaxing. He didn't often get to do activities like this, his childhood had been spent without much money. So this was all foreign to him, but he found himself enjoying it, perhaps it was also attributed to the people he spent it with. 

The youngest members of the group complained with sleepy eyes when they were awoken at the end of the journey. Each of the eldest pulling one of the youngest along with them, ensuring they didn't get lost in the crowd exiting the train. 

Eventually when they entered the dorms once more, the sense of relaxation fading as the exams began to settle in their mind. The exams would start in a week and propel all of their lives in different directions based upon the results and they couldn't help but worry.
