Your Name Engraved Herein is a coming-of-age film that explores the hinge between freedom and sexuality. Documenting the giddy highs of first love and the forces that seek to tear them apart.
The sound of the trumpet is an omnipresent spectre growing in intensity and desperation as the character's relationship deepens amidst the hues of warm yellow, orange and red. I'd be heart pressed to find a film that captures the tenderness of first love so delicately. But, you probably don't need me to tell you that. A Netflix film. Highest Grossing Taiwanese Film in history. Five Awards nominations and four wins.
Never will you ever find a film which stands at par with YNEH. It has the potential to become a standard for other films. Dear Tenant was complimented that it's almost as good as YNEH. Yet, to talk about its impact on me, it's soft and personally heart wrenching.
