A scenario set in 1963 is probably the most personal film I have ever seen. Through Ang lee's eyes, we find the best portrayal of manhood. There is no other film that shows suppressed emotions of a man as good as this. We find it a little similar to the toxic masculinity of The Power Of The Dog. But, here we connect with the man who is rude and aggressive, there we don't. A masterpiece of gay romance. An epic of suppressed emotions.
