LUCA'S POV
"Hello?....yes this is Leo Watson...." muttered Leo. Just a few moments ago, that stupid demon had told each of us riddles that didn't make much sense.
But than again, nothing makes sense to me... Hahaa...
Anyways, after saying the riddles the demon disappeared, leaving the 4 of us in confusion.
That's when Leo's phone started ringing, it seemed to be something serious, so he answered it outside.
"What does the riddles mean though?"
asked Cleo. "I don't no, but-"Before Ari could finish her sentence, Leo came bursting through the front door. He looked like he was about to cry.
"Mom... Mom..." said Leo frantically. "What is it Leo, what's wrong with mom?!" asked Cleo as she shook her brother violently.
"Mom had a stroke....it was the doctor...he said mom's been paralyzed," said Leo as tears streamed out of his eyes.
"What.....?" Cleo had this blank expression on her face. "I'm so sorry to hear that," said Ari while placing her hand on Cleo's shoulder.
"This is all because of that damn demon!!" cried Cleo. I've never seen Cleo that furious before. "Cleo.... Please calm down," I said while hugging her.
Cleo stopped shouting, but I could feel her tears on my T-shirt. I really pity them both. Their such good people and they don't deserve this.
After the two of them had calmed down a bit, Ari told them to go see their mom and that the two of us can manage on our own.
Umm... excuse me?!
Not to sound like a wimp, but Leo was my emotional support buddy. Whenever I felt scared, he would help me out and without him, I don't think I can survive in this house.
Like what do you think I am? A demon slayer?! (I wish I was though...)
I swear if I see that demon one more time I'm gonna loose it! Once the twins left, Ari and I sat in the living room.
It was pretty clear that Ari had many things going on in her head. She only makes that weird twisted face when she's trying to figure out something.
"Luca... didn't Cleo say something about this being the demon's fault?" she asked after a while. Confused by her sudden question, I simply nodded.
"So what if it actually was?" she asked looking at me. "What do you mean?"
"Well, the demon said riddles to each one of us right?" she asked."Yeah, what about it?" I asked, confused as ever. "The beautiful angel ever so pretty, played the harp to her hearts constancy; but alas one day tragedy befalls, forbidding her from playing anther chores, that's what it told them," she said.
Okay I was getting confused. What was Ari trying to point out here?
"Well... What if it had a meaning to it? I remember Cleo telling me that her mom loved singing, but if she got paralyzed, how could she sing again?" she asked.
I thought for a while and suddenly it hit me. In a way, it does make sense. "Okay, but what does the other two riddle mean then?" I asked.
But before I could get my answer, Ari's phone started ringing. "Hey mom... whatssup?.....you're coming here?... Okay cool, see you soon," said Ari as she hung up.
"Was that your mom?" I asked, even though I knew it was. Don't judge me, I'm dumb okay!
"Yeah, mom wanted to let me know that they coming over to check in on us," she said as if it weren't a big deal.
"What?! What if they figure out the demon?!!" I asked. "Don't worry, they'll leave soon cause they're only coming here since dad has a meeting nearby."
"Oh, well in that case it's okay," I said relieved. "Okay, now to answer your question, we need to do a bit of brainstorming," said Ari, to which I agreed.
We spent around an hour gathering information, that could possibly help us out. I think my braincells nearly exploded from being overly loaded, as Ari kept on stuffing my brain with things I could not understand.
We're just trying to find the meaning of 2 riddles, but it feels like we're conducting an experiment or some shit!
"Hey Luca...I think I know the meaning for the 3rd riddle," Ari said, just as I was about to give up.
"You mean the one the demon said to you?" I asked, to which she simply nodded. "Okay, well what does it mean?"
"Two blue birds high in the sky, flying to reach their pride and joy; but along the way an eagle swoops by, crashing into them and ending both their lives, that's what it said. I think it means that two people might die, while trying to go somewhere important I guess," said Ari, shrugging her shoulders.
"But than why would the demon say that to you? It doesn't make sense," I said, getting all confused again.
Ari was quiet at first, but then she suddenly grabbed her phone and frantically started calling someone. I was hella confused, but didn't say anything.
"Pick up...please pick up..." muttered Ari, while walking around the room. She seemed to be very worried, but again I didn't interfere. The person Ari was trying to call didn't seem to pick up, and Ari looked really scared.
"Ari...what's wrong?" I asked, not being able to keep quiet anymore. ".....Give me your phone....NOW LUCA!!" she cried. I was taken aback by her actions, but handed her my phone anyway.
I watched as Ari started calling someone with my phone. I wondered who she was calling, but I didn't get a chance to know as the call got declined yet again. Just as she was about to try again, someone started calling her, from her phone.
She quickly answered it. It was her aunt.... I think as I wasn't able to hear the person's voice clearly, but I knew for a fact that their voice sounded worried.
I tried to hear the conversation as much as I could, but the only thing I heard the person say was; "Ari....did you see the news?" as Ari dropped the phone before they could say anything else. The only thing I can conclude now is that something really bad must have happened......
