Everyone in the main hall scurried away like ants after a kid kicks the ground next to their colony. The shock couldn't seem to settle, but that was understandable. Mingi doubted anyone had ever been foolish enough to try and rob THE Busan bank, yet here they were.
"We have bombs placed at every corner of this building, including the upper stories!" Yunho cried out, gun now slung over his shoulder with its muzzle still smoking. "So don't try anything rash or you just may be caught in the blast! And just a heads up: no help's coming from your friends in the other stories! There's a a good chance they heard the gunshots and they won't come down here if they know what's good for them."
There it was, the gospel according to Yunho: Humans were cowards who wouldn't come to save their peers if it posed a danger to their own hides. He hadn't been wrong so far.
A deathly silence fell on the room almost instantly. People didn't dare to make a move, anymore. They just might have tried to fight back, had they known the bombs were a bluff. However in certain situations, when terror overtook any and all rational thoughts, one could put their trust in even the most dreadful enemy— in this case, Yunho. That was what he and Mingi usually bet on. Though he was lying through his teeth, his voice didn't show a hint of hesitation and left no space for doubt.
Yunho went on with his tirade. "My associate here's got the detonator on speed dial, and his aim with a gun is even deadlier than mine so I trust you won't make too much trouble for him!"
Mingi decided it was time for him to take over. His hyung was having too much fun and that was usually when things got risky for them. Riskier than normal, anyway. "Everyone slowly lie on the floor," he demanded. "Belly down with your palms flat on the ground at both sides of your head."
Most started to oblige, a few of them already sobbing. A man stood still and glared at Mingi silently.
God, not a rebellious one, the criminal thought.
He spoke up again, cocking his gun for emphasis (he'd learned this very efficient trick from Yunho). "I want all of you to take your phones out and place them on the ground screen down so I can collect them. I'll shoot if I hear a single button being pressed or if I see a lit screen." There was something he needed to add. "Just do as we say and you have my word nobody will get hurt."
The defiant man stayed up in a gesture of clear revolt. "Your word means nothing, scum!" He spat.
Literally.
Mingi's foot dodged the projectile and he chuckled. He raised his rifle and flipped it in his hands, striking the man in the belly using its barrel. "I said get down."
He crouched next to the man's lying form and motioned for him to take out his phone.
Truckloads of bills were routed to them in no time. Yunho sat on a marble counter as he watched his duffel bag be filled with Won. Standing at his side was Mingi. His gun shifted every time there was movement in the room. Someone had tried to call the police some time ago and he'd resigned himself to shooting them in the shoulder. He'd made sure to stay on high alert ever since.
"T-there," a bank employee murmured, emptying a bag of bills into the two men's larger one. He stepped back on wobbling feet and Yunho clapped at him.
"Nicely done, lad! See, everything'll go fine—"
He was cut off.
A gust of air knocked into Mingi. The employee moved so quickly he couldn't have hoped to intercept him. In the span of an instant, the tables were turned.
Mingi looked up and the vision he was greeted with filled him with horror.
There was a knife, an army blade. Its sharp edge glinted in the daylight. It pressed against Yunho's throat, threatening to pierce his jugular. The mask still covered the boy's face but at that moment Mingi would have begged for it to be off. He could see that there was no blood anywhere, that Yunho's skin was unharmed, but he needed to know his partner was fine. He needed to make sure, to certify it, to witness the life in his eyes burning like a wildfire and the grin on his lips which made him look more alive than Mingi himself had ever felt in his life.
