Shenzie hadn't moved from her spot in John's room, the jewellery box was still on the floor. It belonged to Helen.
She quickly collected everything and gently placed them back into the box, making sure that it hadn't been chipped from the fall. Her heart was racing as she thought of him finding Billy and breaking his neck... It didn't sound right.

He joined the search party.

Maybe he was covering it up, to make it look like he cared... That he wanted to fool Shenzie which he did.

'Shen?'

She looked back to see Henry at the doorway, 'come on, we best get out of here', he held out his hand and she took it, allowing him to lead her out.

Julia was waiting at Shenzie's place and the moment she had arrived Julia wrapped her arms around her.

'I can't believe it! Are you okay Shen? Did John hurt you?'

That's it, John never hurt her, he only loved her or that's what she thought.

Why is everything happening to me?

She lost Billy, then Max and now... John?

'Guys I... I think I should get some rest, I've had enough for the day'.

'Go for it, you need the rest, after all, you were just with Billys-'.

Henry was quick to cut himself off, 'I'll see you later Shen', she left Henry and Julia alone, wanting to close her eyes and pretend that what had happened hadn't happened.

As she lay on the bed, she couldn't help but think about everything that had been said, the evidence had pointed straight to John, in a box that he didn't want to open.
There was also the fact that John couldn't remember much of that night.

It was bloody 4 years ago!

Something wasn't right, she sat up suddenly.
Henry was terrible at remembering things, but he explained to Girth what had happened that very night.

You're overthinking things, Henry isn't dumb or anything.

But it was something that was going to be stuck in her mind for a while.

Just go to sleep already.

'Shenzie!'

She stirred, 'Shenzie, fucking wake up!' She bolted upright when she felt strong hands grip her shoulders. Henry was in front of her, his eyes were wide with terror, 'what the hell is wrong with you Henry?'
She felt guilty for ignoring how terrified he was, 'it's John', the moment she heard his name Shenzie woke up immedietly, 'John? What about John?'

'He's escaped, he managed to do a runner'.

Oh god.

'We have to get out of here'.

Henry said quickly as he rushed to her closet, he managed to find one of her duffel bags and began to pack.

'Henry, hey Henry... Henry!'

He looked back at her, 'what?' Shenzie shook her head, 'don't be ridiculous, he's not going to hurt me'.

'How do you know?'

She didn't, but there was something that was stopping her from running, she wasn't afraid of John. Was it because she had made love and had fallen in love with him?

'Shen? Why aren't you packing, he's dangerous'.

'I know I- look, just give me a few moments alright'.

Henry seemed hesitant before nodding, 'alright, I'll be in my room, I'm gonna start packing... Just let me know when you want to get ready'.

'Yeah sure'.

Henry rushed out and Shenzie fell back against the pillow, she was tired, so tired that she didn't want to move.

You need to get your shit together Shen.

There was no point going back to sleep though, Henry had done a fine job at scaring the shit out of her, so she decided to get up. The moment she entered the hallway she look over to a door futher down... Billy's room.
She could hear Henry bustling away in the spare room but Shenzie wasn't rushing at all.
When she opened the door she was met with the past, and she tried to hold back the tears. Billy loved the color blue, that was the color that Max had painted the walls. He also liked rockets and astroids... Basically space, so Shenzie painted stars on the walls as well. He loved almost everything, and that's what Shenzie loved about him, Billy also reminded her of Max, who would always disagree with her.

'I mean, he looks a little like me, but he ain't like me'.

Shenzie remembered Max's quirky tone which she loved the most, but he was no longer here, and neither was Billy and it broke Shenzies' heart. She wandered around the room before opening the blinds. She hadn't done that in 4 years and it seemed to be refreshing, though the only thing that was missing was the little boy who would wake up and complain.
Sadly the shelves had collected dust and the closet was still full with Billy's clothes. Shenzie didn't have the strength to get rid of them. She ended up arguing with Max about whether or not they give Billy's clothes away. She knew that she was being selfish but as the years went by and just by looking at the clothes now, maybe it was best to give these to others who are in need.

'What the hell'.

She mumbled and she shoved the closet door open a little more and began shuffling through the shirt and jumpers. She had piled a few clothes onto the bed, all she had to do was grab some bags and sort the clothes out. When she went for the last of the clothes she suddenly stopped when her foot hit something hard and when she looked down she noticed a small book... A notebook was hidden in the side of the closet. The clothes had been forgotten as she grabbed it, the cover was coated with years of dust seeing as it had been lying there for quite some time. When Shenzie opened it she recognised little Billy's writing.
She closed the door to Billys' room so that Henry wouldn't disturb her and she sat down on the bed to read.

Dear Diary.

Today has been boring, mummy made pancakes though for breakfist and it was yummy.
Dady played ball with me outside and we kicted a ball around.

Shenzie smiled whilst trying her best not to cry because she remembered she had told him to have a little notebook to keep so that he could write things down when he felt he wanted to keep things to himself.

I like a girl but I dont know if she like me, i might talk to mummy about her.

Billy never did.

Daddi will take me fishing?

They never did.

I passed my egzam and mum and dad were happy.

We sure were.
Shenzie had read through a few more pages, Billy had extended out to the rest of the family and Shenzie tried her best not to laugh at how quirky Billy was, just like Max. She was about to close the book when she noticed a sentence.

Uncle Henry is mean.
