Watchtower

Part 2

Buzz Ran out of the tower. He had prayed that no one else even saw the girl. If so Thorp would have said that it had been a false alarm. There was no way that the girl had been, or even could have been, sick. If she was sick, then Buzz was going to be destroying the whole reason he was even there.

When he had arrived at the beach, he found the little girl perched on the floor, who was breathing heavily. He asked what her name was and by the way she spoke, she seemed to be only 6 or 7 years old.

"Are you ok?!" Buzz asked.

"My leg is cut." She replied. And my name is Sophie.

When he was about to say you have to return, She got up and ran into the dark screaming

"COUSIN!!!" When she came out, beside her was Thorp.

"Wait! You two are cousins?!" Buzz asked.

Throb, with a choked sob, said.

"Yes. I haven't seen her in so long I forgot who we saw."

He turned to Sophie, then.

"I'm so sorry I left you."

"Plz, I have something for y-"

"What in GOD'S NAME ARE YOU DOING."  Came a voice came from behind Buzz.

"SEND HER BACK."

It was the Captain.

"Captain! I can't leave MY COUSIN, SHE'S ONLY 7!!!" Screamed Thorp.

"IT doesn't matter! You already endangered us by your curiosity to see who she was. And NOW you want to let her STAY!!! YOU CA-"

The whole time they were bickering, Sophies face seemed to be getting darker and darker until,

"LISTEN TO MEE!!!"

Silence.

"I HAVE A SAMPLE of the virus in a bottle!" Sophie screamed with authority.

"Now, if you want to stop this virus, then you better listen to me."

"Aghhhhh! This makes things COMPLICATED. We need to get that sample to the scientists. But, you still are a problem. It isn't safe to let you stay. But, our rules also include keeping our families safe." the captain replied.

Buzz and Thorps' faces switched from Frustration, then confusion, to excitement.

"You mean she gets to stay!!!" Said one of the soldiers.

"Yes."

"But, the safety of the island?"

"The fact that she managed to row all the way from the Mainland means she doesn't have it. If she did, she would have died before she even got here. If she truly had it she never would have made it here. Not to mention that we are the protectors of this island, and what's on this island. our families and the families of others. Now, as for you two," he gestured to Thorp and Buzz,

"It wouldn't have mattered, I'm immune to the virus. I already had it so I'm now immune. But you can only become immune to it if you don't die from it." Sophie said.

"You must give me your badges and you will be detained from duty for a year and a half. And i'll need that bottle. Am I Clear!?"

"Yes sir" They replied.

"Now, in the meantime, you can take care of your sister. And IF ANY OF YOU so MUCH as utter a word of this you will be banished from the island. And I really don't want to do that."

Then, the captain left. And left the three of them to head back to their apartment.
