The longer Bella searched, the more Charlotte seemed to disappear forever. She ran through the woods, but the ground seemed to fall on Charlotte.

Her legs ached and her knees broke. Exhausted, she fell to the ground. She knelt on wet moss, but she didn't want to give up. She wanted to find Charlotte at all costs.

After a while, she forced herself to get up. She straightened her short hair behind her ear and went even deeper into the dark forest.

She kept looking around. All she heard was the rustle of the forest and the birdsong. Neither the sound nor the clue that would lead her to Charlotte. Suddenly there was a crack of twigs. That others would start looking for them? Or is it Charlotte? She heard someone walking behind a rock. She approached the rock slowly, shaking a little, but didn't stop. Out of nowhere, a girl's sob echoed through the forest.
"Charlotte? Is that you?" Bella ran in that direction. Charlotte sat leaning against a rock, her legs pressed tightly to her body and her tears unstoppable.
"Bella?" she wiped the tears from her eyes "What are you doing here?"

"I came looking for you. What's going on? Why did you run away?" Bella slowly approached Charlotte and began stroking her back.
"I can't handle my element," Charlotte said at last. "I can't just come in there and show them what I can't do! It'll end in disaster,"
"It won't end! You'll see! I'll go first and show you how to handle it, don't worry!" Bella took her hand discreetly and pulled Charlotte to a standing.
"Shall we go? They'll start looking for us," Charlotte smiled and nodded in agreement at Bella.

...

"There are only the last two students left. So who's going first? Bella or Charlotte?" the teacher asked, turning toward the students. She looked around for a moment when one of the students tapped her on the shoulder, "Mrs. Teacher, I'm afraid they're not here."

The teacher ruffled her short curly hair nervously.
"That's not possible. It wasn't here for two students to get lost the first day!" panicked.

"Mrs. teacher, we apologize for arriving later. We're lost," Bella began to apologize.

A huge stone fell from the teacher's heart. "I hope it doesn't happen to girls again! So which one of you goes first?" Even as the teacher asked, she fixed her gaze on Charlotte. Just the thought made her dizzy. She began to sweat and tremble.

"I will go," Bella said, heading straight for the spring. Charlotte breathed a sigh of relief. All the stress subsided. She was still thinking about Belly's words. She sat on the nearest rock and stared at Bella's every move.

Bella leaned her feet into the ground. She took a deep breath and reached for the spring. Suddenly the running water stopped. Charlotte held her breath, waiting patiently for what would happen next. She herself was nervous. Bella shrugged, reaching for the other. It looked like she was pulling a rope. The spring of water straightened into a perfect plane. Charlotte was stunned, she was sure she couldn't. Suddenly Bella shook her hand sharply and the spring fell apart.

"All right, Bella. Great! Charlotte, it's your turn," as soon as the teacher said, Charlotte began to shake like an aspen. Her heart pounded and her lungs seemed to constrict. Her stomach was on the water and her legs wouldn't listen. Her ears began to whistle and her head shook. She was fainting. She already felt like she was falling into emptiness until she fell heavily into Bella's arms.
"Charlotte? Are you okay?" Bella asked worriedly.
"Yes, I'm fine," she lied.

Charlotte stood up slowly. She clenched her fist and headed for the spring. She did exactly what Bella did. However, when she used her ability, the spring raged and gushed Charlotte right in the face. She didn't stay on her feet and fell.

Everyone started laughing out loud, only Charlotte was there. The teacher ran after her and helped her up. Charlotte just held back her tears.
"It's nothing Charlotte. I'll give you this bracelet," Mrs. teacher said, pinning a silver bracelet to Charlotte's hand. "It will weaken your abilities so that you can handle them. Don't worry, they won't disappear completely."

Charlotte just nodded and went to see Bella. She looked at her worriedly.
"What is it?" she pointed to Charlotte's bracelet.
"I'll explain later," Charlotte said, turning to the others who had already gone back to school. She wiped a few stray tears inconspicuously and stared at the ground.

Bella stared anxiously at Charlotte. She looked at her from head to toe. She was all wet and must have been cold in the woods. She hurried over and threw her sweatshirt, which Bella had originally tied around her waist. Charlotte winced slightly, but then smiled kindly at Bella.

...

The journey from the forest to their rooms seemed endless. Charlotte and Bella's legs ached, so they gladly welcomed the soft beds. Despite the wet clothes Charlotte was wearing, she was happy to lie down.
"What do you have the bracelet for?" Bella asked. Charlotte sat down and breathed:
"The teacher said the bracelet was supposed to dampen my abilities. I can't handle my element, it's too strong for me. But my mom told me it was better to control water than air."
Bella looked strangely at Charlotte and sat down, "Why?"
"I'm told no one can smother anyone that everyone can swim," Charlotte replied, smiling at Bella. Bella threw a sour face at Charlotte. It was as if she was suffocating something, something that should explode at any moment. Charlotte looked at her a little frightened, but her expression seemed funny to her. Gradually, a smile appeared from Charlotte to ear on her face. They looked at each other strangely for a while until they couldn't stand it and started laughing uncontrollably until they grabbed their abdomen...
