Chapter 9 - Struggle

After walking away from Justin, I attempted to find my way back to the road, but It's been almost two hours, and I've found nothing.

I had screwed up badly.

I knew I shouldn't have walked away from Justin, he was only trying to keep us safe, but honestly just sitting there is never going to help anything.

Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I groaned when I didn't have any service, and my phone was about to die.

"Great, just great." I mumbled to myself, and continuted walking.

I noticed that the sun was about to set, and darkness was taking over the daylight.

Only after taking a few steps, I had tripped over a branch, and my head had smacked a rock in the process. My head felt like it was going to explode, and I had felt the symptoms of my concussion that I had only gotten a week ago coming back.

I reached my hand to the back of my head, only to feel warm, dark red blood seeping into my hand.

I quickly began to panic, seeing I was in the middle of no where.

Slowly standing up, I used anything I could grab on to so I could continue walking. I was able to walk five feet before my vision began to get blurry and everything started spinning. I shut my eyes tight, hoping that when I opened them my vision would have cleared, but my vision only seemed to get worse.

I tried to take another step, but my legs buckled from underneath me and I collapsed to the ground.

I quickly grabbed my phone and called Justin, not even checking if I had service, but only the dial-tone came up.

I crawled a few more feet before I collapsed again, and I decided to try and call Justin.

This time, my phone began to ring while calling him.

"Ari? Ari, where are you?" Justin's worried voice came up on the phone.

I tried to answer, but groaned because of the horrible headache.

"Oh my god, Ari, I just found the road and called Scooter for help," I heard rustling of bushes in the backround, "Can you tell me where you are? Anything around you?"

My voice was hoarse, "Justin, I hit my head, and I'm bleeding."

"Shit," I heard him mumble, "Babe, I'm going to find you."

I tried to turn my head to look at my surroundings, but screamed because of the pain in my head.

"Ari! I just heard you, not in the phone, but outside." I heard a rustling in the backround, and then a click, "Can you see a flashlight? I'm shining one right now."

I screamed as I forced my head to turn to look around, and saw a little light in the distance pointing right at me.

"Y-Yeah, It's pointing right at me," black dots started to spot my vision, "Justin, please hurry."

My body begun to feel so weak, I dropped the phone and wasn't able to see or hear anything coming from it.

The flashlight was coming closer, and the running footsteps grew louder.

"Ari!" Justin called.

I tried to answer, but all that came out was a groan.

He must have heard it because a few seconds later, a very concerned Justin was crouching next to me. The look on his face when he saw my head told me that my wound was bad.

Justin quickly took off his t-shirt and wrapped it around my head as an attempt to stop the bleeding, but I had already lost so much blood.

I felt his hands go underneath my back and under my legs, and I was then lifted into the air.

As we got closer to the road, my vision blurred even more, and black dots started to take over my vision. My head was pounding, and the sirens in the distance made everything louder.

"Babe, keep your eyes open. We're almost there."

I tried to answer, but all that came out were soft wimpers.

All of a sudden, Justin begun running to the street as an attempt to get there quicker, but the bouncing of his footsteps made everything worse.

I fought, and I tried to keep my eyes open, but blackness soon corrupted my vision, and the last thing I remember is Justin screaming my name.
