Sofia The First: Once Upon A Royal Knight

Chapter 33: Queens For The Day?!

"ENOUGH!" Amber yelled. "That's enough arguing! One is unfortunately right your Dad is very nutty especially for a King because he didn't tell his Gardener to not steal flowers, so he's encouraged thieving, as well as pampering and spoiling all three of witch are not proper Princessly qualities or traits that a Princess should ever accept. Two you are not going to treat my siblings like your servants carry two bags of your own luggage at least."

James' jaw dropped agape when Amber said that at the top of her lungs at her best friend. Amy smiled a huge smirk flooding her face, she liked Amber's tough side.

"Maybe you're not such a Prissy Princess at all, one glance can hardly allow a person to really know you Amber." Amy remarks.

"Queen Amber, congratulations." Jade and Ruby came up to the castle to congratulate Amber on being Queen for the Day.

"We heard all about you being Crowned Queen for the Day of Enchancia when Miranda passed by she told us. We know you'll do great."

"Aww, thanks, Ruby and Jade, it was so sweet of you to walk all the way here." Amber responded calmly.

"Hmmn, if only the villagers of Freezenburg could see the bad example King Henrik is setting for Future Royals by seeing the way Amber's improved since we were first met as rivals they would be utterly stunned." Amy imagined a dream sequence with Amber as their Princess in her head.

"Queen of Enchancia?" asks Amy.

"Acting Queen my Father's unwell and incapable of doing proper Kingly duties." said Amber. "So he asked me to take charge while he rests recovering." Sofia and James wink at each other smiling Amber's way.

"That's impossible!" Hildegarde shouted. "How do you and Astrid get away with getting all the practice with power you're hardly responsible with it."

"Firstly, Amber and Astrid are the oldest in between our family lines and responsibility of the Kingdom unless they marry is always shared with them Hildegarde. Be grateful you weren't forced to be Queen too soon." James retorted back with strong wise words.

"So that means whatever Amber
says today goes, and must be done which reminds me, stay out of the library, Hildegarde." Sofia tells her.

"Yes, she is right it is my command that nobody may enter our library today." Amber reminds those in front of her. "Would you like to come in for tea?"

Amy, Jade, and Ruby all said, "We'd be honored to have tea with you, Acting Queen Amber." Hildegarde frowned because having Amy, Jade and Ruby there along with Sofia at the banquet table outnumber her, James and Amber as Royals.

Amber poured James' tea first and Jade's first tea first too as she wanted them to spend sometime together getting closer.
"We're excited Tilly has a baby boy, our parents have a nephew and we got a cousin." Sofia explained over tea time.

"That's awesome Sofia when's the ball, Amber?"

"First day in the second week of July, Ruby. You're coming right with Jade as well?" Amber inquired.

"Yes, but how do you throw a ball for a baby?" asked Jade.

"That's true that's difficult." James says. "We're not sure we should let it be normal, a baby can cause chaotic mess."

"No they don't." Hildegarde blunty disagrees.

"Have you ever babysat anyone, Hildegarde?" questioned Amy. "Cause I have and James is right babies are hard to watch even harder to control. It requires gentle, firm and strict demeanour all at once. And that being said very few people are prepped with those qualities one of the exceptions is no doubt Sofia."

Sofia was flustered when Amy said that she'd make an excellent parent someday soon.

"Really?" gasped Sofia surprised.

"Yep, Amy's right." Ruby said. "You'd make a fine parent, Sofia."

"It's true us as your besties we would no you have parenting skills around us all the time, Princess." Jade agreed. "You'd make one of the greatest parents I've ever seen."

"Jade, when have I ever acted parent-like to anyone of you?" asked Sofia confused she could not see what her village friends saw in herself.

"When you first met Lucinda you started being more parent-like towards Jade and Jade's watched her temper because of that now."

"You don't hold grudges towards anyone at school especially Hugo even though he knocked you off the Flying Derby horse at tryout four or five years ago. Or Amber for uncouth she is sometimes to all of us."

"James!" Sofia warned him immediately. "Amber is not uncouth she just has a highly strictly opinion of life especially Royal life and that makes her more constructive rather than critical than any Royal I have ever met."

Hildegarde's face was getting madder every second Amber or Sofia were praised.

"Um Suzette could you please bring in the Drop Scones?" Amber called out the signal to the maid in the Kitchen.

"Right away, your Highness." Suzette responded immediately to Amber who was being unusually polite for her age towards her staff.

"James, and Jade once you're finished you're dismissed you may spend the next two hours together." Amber urged him.

"Really?" questioned Jade. Amber nodded understanding the excitement she just unleashed for them.

"Oh, I see what's going on those two have a thing for each other." sighed Amy pleasantly genuinely surprised herself.

"Awwh, I think that's what going on too." said Ruby. "Sofia would you like to help me and Reggie in the bakery we heard its behind schedule today and they could use a couple extra set of hands."

"Great idea Ruby," Sofia agrees Sofia.

"Why don't we all go lend a hand its on
my list." Amber said. "We'll ask Cedric to join us too, Sofia and I know both know where everything is in the bakery."

"Great cause I need community hours for school at Dunwiddie High." Ruby responded. "Meaning I must volunteer for center amount of timd before I even graduate from my next school. And I want to make one of the best impressions ever on all my teachers."

"And we need the hours so the fairies at RPA will get Hildegarde her real wheelchair. This one is just a prototype and I am not confident that's very safe either."

"The splint seems to be holding up well though." said Sofia.

"Yeah, but she is consistently leaning on me and no offense Hildegarde, but you are quite heavy to leaning on anything even me who's a person!"

"How is that not offensive Amy!" exclaimed Hildegarde.

"Yeesh, not even polar bears, foxes and wolves fight like this through words." Ruby commented. Amber and Sofia knew exactly what she meant. "They were being savage towards each other."

"I'll go tell Mr. Cedric we need his help at the bakery Amber." said Sofia. Amber gave her sister a quick nod before she pulled the other two apart.

"That's enough as Queen under my rule stop arguing and put on your tough faces, I forbid another complaint you're both making my ears bleed and hurt a lot. "Hildegarde, take those baskets, Amy you carry those trays and Ruby you get those mixing bowls and whisks and stirring spoons, and meet me at the front entrance of the castle." Amber immediately warns them that she was getting tired of this back and forth banter that should have been again dropped hours ago.
