"You're playing the key wrong Addy," Nick face palmed at the repeated mistake. Anh giggled as she watched the two bicker over simple instruments."Shut up league addict," Addy whipped his head at her. "Play your notes piano boy," she snapped back. Instead of the key, a loud thump; one after the other was heard from the outside.
"Was there a rally we missed out on?" Nick questioned approaching the door.
"I'll check, get our stuff Addy," Anh maneuvered towards the knob. He only shoved Nick backwards, "Looks like you have to do that sorry king."
He only sighed, already used to this type of treatment. Meanwhile Addy and Anh had found themselves face to face with an empty staircase.
"Where is everyone," Anh pulls her phone out only to see the signal lost. A loud scream from the end of the hallway struck the two.
Addy gaped at the sight of a student being tackled down, blood spewing from the persons body. "I'm going to be sick," Anh clutched Addy's arm.
He shook her off, "Not on me the fuck." The next abrupt noise was the music room door opening. Revealing Nick struggling to carry all three bags.
"Shit," they both mutter to themselves.
"Hey guys, a little help?" He hollered across. They peered behind Nick's figure to see the flesh eating thing look their way.
They signaled for him, mouthing "hurry the fuck up."
"I can't, it's too heavy," Nick yet again yelled from across."We should leave him at this point," Addy whisper yells at Anh. She nudged his side and kept mouthing words such as,
"You're going to die if you don't get your ass here."
Nick looked even more confused. "What's wrong guys? Did I miss something?" The more he spoke, the more the thing behind him leaped in action.
"This is crazy because it's giving every man for themselves, don't you think?" Addy gritted the words through his teeth.
"Maybe if we run he'll follow," Anh perked up. They looked at each other then back at their clueless friend; shaking their head.
They sprinted towards Nick, Addy helping carry the bags while Anh opened the door for the zombie to crash into.
"Oh my god, what the fuck is that," Nick clinged onto Addy. "What was going to fucking eat you if we don't move."
With that said they zoomed a floor up. "I can't die," Nick frantically said, "I still haven't heard Thomas confess to me," He cried out while they ran.
Anh could only roll her eyes. "News flash, he could already be dead you idiot."
Their hands all banged onto the door. A eye appeared on the other side, widening, the door was becoming unlocked, they pushed the door as well as Celina onto the floor. Shutting it the second they step foot inside.
"Oh shit sorry," Addy remarked.
"God are you trying to kill me before a zombie does," Celina snapped, dusting herself off.
"Roll call?" Nick suggested, a nervous gulp followed his words.
"Why are majority of the youngest here?" Anh noticed.
"Yea where the fuck is Audrey, Bri, Jhon," Slater lists off. "Sophie, Ace, Rj, man even Vee," Celina finished.
"Oh my god Lyen too," Alisha added on.
The computer lab was empty for majority of the school days. Unfortunately, today wasn't one of them. Bri holds the bag of chips to the companion beside her.
The sound of the power cutting out was present abruptly after. "Did you pull a cord?" Bri questioned him and he cluelessly shook his head.
"What the hell happened then," She checked her phone but her bars were set to zero.
"Something feels off," Jhon perked up. "Maybe we check ou—" In the midst of opening the door, a hand slaps and slid off the glass part. He peered down with Bri behind his shoulder, seeing someone hold their stomach with blood pooling towards the floor.
"Oh hell no," they both say in sync with one another. Both charged at the entrances and exits, locking them. "Did you see that?" Jhon freaked out and pointed to the print.
"No shit, I may wear glasses but I can see stupid," Bri glared at him.
The location of where they were, is approximately five rooms down the hall from where the others were. The breeze flooded into the classroom and Bri stared at Jhon, simultaneously from him to the window.
"Are you out of your mind?"
Jhon placed the nearest chair beside the opening. "Maybe, but everyone out there is beyond out of their minds."
Bri hummed in how accurate his response was.
He breathed in and exhaled hard. Positioning himself to look forward while his figure backed itself flat on the wall.
"Just keep swimming," He continued the phrase and Bri raised an eyebrow at his choice of words before wobbling on the concrete edge.
"Fuck this was a bad idea," Bri screeched, unable to consist her balance.
"Don't look down and you'll be fine," Jhon laughed nervously, only doing the opposite. "Fuck," He huffed out. "Has it been five fucking rooms yet," He cried out.
Luckily he was loud enough for the others to hear. "Oh my god that's Jhon," Anh jumped from her seat to the window. She poked her head out and looked to see them both with their eyes shut, shifting slightly every so often.
She too grabbed the nearest chair. "Over here," she hollered. They both look which only leaned their bodies forward and they screamed before catching the edge.
"Anh you fuck, you're the reason we're going to die," Bri whined unable to stop her rapid heartbeat.
"Oops," Anh paused before adding a, "Sorry."
Slater helps them both in and they all sigh in relief at their safety.
"That was so stressful, where my blunt pencil case at?" Bri immediately walked to her desk.
"You were insane for that Jhon," Slater looked at his friend, heavily breathing on the floor.
"Exactly, there's no respawning," Addy's voice muffled, his head buried in his own arms.
Jhon still found the light in the joke, enough to let out a chuckle. "What about the others?" He looked around seeing such a small portion of them.
Everyone shrugged.
