The settled Pot against the couch. The cloth wasn't doing much for him. It was absorbing the blood but it wasn't stopping it.

"This is such a lame way to die," He coughs out weakly. Everyone looked at him with such concern.

"You cannot be thinking like that right now," Bri says adjusting the tightness.

He smiled, "Better to expect it." Vee exhaled annoyed at the situation and placed her hands on her head.

Nick and Anh watched over the rest of the school. Skimming to see if anyone else was alive but there wasn't any sort of hope.

The smell of weed circulated the air as the sun went down. "I feel fucking amazing," Audrey said before passing it onto Pot.

He didn't decline. He was nearing death and everyone was in denial of it. Matter of fact, Vee was on the edge, feet dangling off, trying to contain her tears.

Addy was started to get comfortable while Celi went to lay beside the door where Alisha and Jazz had also sat down.

"We should've stayed in the classroom," Bri mumbled from the corner of the couch.

"It's cold as shit up here," Vee said making her way towards the others, hugging her arms in the process. She pulled up a chair against the wall while stacking a bunch of boxes to place her legs onto.

"We'll figure out what we do in the morning," Audrey said pulling her hood over her head, Slater doing the same.

Anh, Addy and Nick slid themselves down and rested their backs against the wall. Sophie could only think about her sisters but her thoughts evaporated once sleepiness took over.

In no time, the sky was dark and the temperature dropped. Some overlapped their jackets over themselves or amongst others.

The sound of a longing groan was faint to some. Relatively clearer to Bri. The others were a few feet away but Bri remained on the other side of the couch for the sake of company.

It didn't stop. Matter of fact, the noise only increased in volume. Bri, finally regaining vision, stood up to see Pot violently puking blood on the other side of the couch.

"It's happening isn't it," Pot laughed a little in a sickened voice. Bri blinked once more, multiple times for this actually. The second to wake was Jazz.

She'd been a light sleeper in occasions that troubled her slumber. The figure of a blood pool resting on the ground altered her fight of flight. She woke Alisha beside her.

The image wasn't there yet but it all became transparent. Bri was against the ground, arms forcefully on Pots shoulders. Blood leaked from his mouth.

"You're fucking disgusting for this," Bri struggled with her words. He wasn't him anymore, they all knew that. The clatter of the objects around them, awakened everyone else.

Audrey had taken the nearest lengthened item, it being a shovel, and swung it directly at Pots head. Bri scrambling to her feet, holding her neck in terms of breathing.

"Sorry Pot, you were going to eat Bri," Audrey said. As if it was normal.

They all crowded against his body. Examining it before someone had kicked him to ensure his state. Anh looked at Nick with a what the fuck us wrong with you expression. Everyone following the same.

"Well we can't keep him up here," Slater suggests and the others look around to see if there was anyway they could contain him so he wouldn't strike again.

Vee clutched her head in stress. The others began to grab rope and huddled around the railing of the roof corner.

They had tied his hands together and bagged his head so he wouldn't come close to biting any of them. Once Bri had tightened the rope, they all stepped back with their heads hung low.

"Sorry it ended up like this for you Pot," Celina said.
They all nodded in agreement, stepping away.

"How did he even turn? He wasn't bit," Bri questioned and Sophie hissed at the question.

"Before we got here, we stumbled upon a zombie. He held the gun so close to its body that the blood transferred to the gun itself. So the bullet was..."

"Infected," Bri said in defeat.

They all watched the sun go up and those that roamed on the front field of the school entrance.

"I wonder where Lyen is," Alisha sighed in the process.
Jazz rubbed her back in comfort before saying a quick me too.
