I looked down on his Gun.
"Why do you ask such questions, Harry?" it was always a good trick to ask questions back because it leads away from the original question. I met Harry with a frozen stare and didn't dare to look away.
"Because I wonder why you've got so little faith in the people around you, Louis" the way Harry said his name made him want to crawl in his own skin. So cold and heartless, it pained him to hear it said that way
"In my job field you don't have faith in the people and hope for your own sanity that the person on the other side doesn't have carry a gun or points it at you, because then you just have to hope that you are the better shot." I smiled bittersweet and held his hand over the gun.
"Right so what do you do for a living then?" Harry still looked at his gun. He looked a bit skeptic and disgusted maybe but I didn't mind. It was a normal reaction I got for wearing a gun out in the open but I was used to it by now.
" You might not believe it but I'm a police officer. And what about you?" I always used that as an answer when I didn't knew if I could trust the other person with his real job.
"That sounds interesting. I'm an accountant so to say." I didn't really believe him. I was good at reading people and knew when someone was fucking with him, I just didn't know why. But then again, I was lying too so I guess Harry had his reasons.
"Right guys, I guess we better get going huh? Before things blow up. Not literally of course." Athena said and I was happy to hear that from her. Although I thought Harry was quite a Person to be around. He had that vibe around him like he could just move everything along his way, but also if you were with him nothing could really hurt you. She stepped back. I stood up and gave her a hug. I hadn't seen her in so long it was incredible how much I missed her and didn't realize. Then I looked at Harry and extended his Hand to him. Slowly Harry took it and quite literally crushed it again. I should've seen that one coming after that conversation but what can you do? I had a good day so I wanted to continue being polite to Harry.
"It was so good to see you Athena, we should grab a coffee sometime soon love. I've missed ya!" I said as they were about to go. Noticing Harrys watch slipping up a bit his wrist and revealing an dark Anker tattoo. Oh so that was why he was staring at his rope wrapped around his wrist earlier. That was a weird coincidence and I was shocked but also just amused at the same time. Maybe it was faith that they met but then again, I didn't believe in faith either so I guess it was just luck.
"It was my pleasure Louis. Yes let's meet up sometime" her smile was gorgeous and he remembered all the guys that were falling for her in college and jealous he got to be her best Friend. They all wished to be him and he wished to be with one of them. But he didn't get that lucky because being gay was a rarity in his collage and his grade.
Anyways Athena and Harry were on their way as Harry turned over his shoulder and gave him a last glance.
"I like you tattoo, Louis" he smiled and it was an honest smile this time. Not so heartless and not that bright either but it was enough to let Louis heart skip a beat. He looked at his wrist before Harry was out of his sight and traced with his fingers over the rope. He remembered when he got that Tattoo, it was his third and he was so excited. The Tattoo artist was so talented and hot, he hooked up with him after their session. Tommy was his name if he remembered correctly because that man was someone he would never forget. He got him into that job and connected him with Carlo.
They dated for a few months and the sex was pretty amazing but other than that there wasn't much to say after a while. So he broke up and Carlo understood why, he was okay with it. After Harry was gone he noticed Dave again which he had almost forgotten about.
"Soo what do you wanna eat? Any Idea?" he asked focusing on the menu and thinking about what he wanted to get.
"I think I'm gonna go with the scrambled eggs with bacon and beans, what about you love?" he looked up at that name. It was weird being called it by someone who wasn't his boyfriend but he didn't mind. Dave smiled innocent at him and raised an eyebrow.
"Uhm I'm more of a sweet guy in the morning so I guess pancakes with syrup will do"
"Good choice" The waitress came back and took their orders
"So you don't normally do breakfasts after a one-night-stand, do you?" Dave gave him a smug look and nipped his juice. Louis didn't really care what Dave thought of him. He was a good shack but other than that he didn't really care which was maybe selfish but that was the meaning of hookups, wasn't it. He'll probably never gonna see him again either way. So he might as well get it over with. He didn't want to be rude about it, not on his good day but it was just the truth.
"No, you are my first one for that. Also for waking up with a gun pointed at them, which again I am sorry for but it wasn't really my fault. But anyways, no I don't do this much"
"No worries, I do have one question though." He leaned forward
"Alright, shoot"
"Why did you say you were a cop to harry but didn't lie to me?" His fingers moved along his neck tracing the red marks louis left on his skin.
"Because you signed my NDA and you seemed like someone who wouldn't talk, would you?" Louis remembered him laying underneath him in his bed and how his mouth slighly opend when he moaned Louis name and how his abs flexed and his jawline clenched when he was about to come.
"No I wouldn't and I did sign it, didn't I? But I didn't know cops were so good in bed." Their food came and they started to eat. It tasted good and Louis started to think that he should do that more often. Take One-night-stands to a breakfast there.
"So what about you, what do you do?" he got curious while enjoying his pancakes.
"I'm a Lawyer, so if you ever happened to need someone to defend you in court I can cover for you-"
"I'm pretty sure that won't happen. I'm damn good at my job or else I wouldn't do it because of the high risk of getting caught but I'm sure I'll never need you. And if I'll do I'm sure I deserve to go to prison. But if you ever need to get rid of someone you have my number" Louis grinned. He was the best at his Job because he was discreet and not so stupid to just shoot a gun through someone's head if they needed to die. Even though he could and it would be easier. It was too risky and too obvious.
" Yeah well if you need me, for a job, a coffee or sex you have my number."
"Yeah, thanks mate"
"Do you have any rules for your job?" he asked curiously
" Uhm, no Kids or People under 18 and no one over 75 because they'll die soon anyway unless you give me a good reason why it can't wait. Then I'll make an exception. Oh and you have to have a reason. I can't just kill someone for funnsies. But that's pretty much it" Louis hand gazed over his gun checking if everything was alight.
"Alright, so if I had someone so to say, who was 35 and I really needed to get rid of them. Uhm would you consider that they abused my Sister constantly as a good reason?"
"Yeah totally reasonable even though you could ask if it were just easier for her to leave him. Even though he's not a good Person. But if that doesn't work, sure I'm your best option. But I have to say, I don't really discuss business over breakfast. I have a Manager for that but I'll make an exception for you."
