The group stared at the new superheroes in shock. No one said anything and the silence stretched on for what felt like an eternity before anyone could find the words to break it, and it was the girl with the wolf costume who managed it first, her eyes widening and her hands flying up in front of her eyes as she let out a loud exclamation.
"Oh, my goodness! Oh, that sounded so much darker than it was supposed to! No, no, no! We're not evil! I promise! And I...uh...let me just start again! Hi! We're the Guardians of the Miraclebox and we've been expecting you! No...wait...that sounded extremely maniacal, and--Oh, for once I am hoping they don't speak English and this will entirely blow over and they won't think I'm a complete idiot." Losing all of her terrifying composure, she dropped her head into her hands with a horrified groan.
Nicholas was trying to hold back his laughter but was failing miserably
"And that is why Nicholas talks instead of you"
"What Louve is trying to say," another girl, dressed as a tiger, interjected quickly, stepping forward and gently lowering the wolf's hands from her red face. "Is that we're happy you're here. We've heard so much about the protectors of Paris and we are so honored that you've come all this way to see us."
"Uh...thank you," Adrien said carefully, taking the lead for the entire group. "We're...sorry to drop into your turf like this but it's kind of an emergency and..." He trailed off as the group began laughing.
"I'm...I'm sorry," spoke a swan. "Our 'turf'? Chat Noir, this is America. Land of the free. There are no 'turfs' between superheroes here. You and your team are more than welcome."
"Well, thank you again and...wait, you know who I am?"
"Of course we do!" spoke a girl dressed in such an assortment of colors that Nino could only begin to imagine what her kwami was supposed to be. A rainbow? "This is Louve!" she added, grabbing the wolf girl by the shoulders and pulling her forward so she was once again standing at the front of the group, fiddling anxiously with something underneath her hooded cape and looking shyly down at the gravel. "Her kwami's power is foresight! She knew you would be coming, as well as all of your superhero names and identities!" She grinned boldly, a bit like a kid in a candy store. "Adrien Agreste; Chat Noir--holder of the black cat miraculous. Marinette Dupain-Chang; Ladybug--holder of the ladybug miraculous. Alya Cesaire; Rena Rouge--holder of the fox miraculous. Love your blog by the way. Chloe Bourgeois; Queen Bee--holder of the bee miraculous." She took a deep breath and then focused her gaze on the last member of the team. "And Nino Lahiffe; Carapace--holder of the turtle miraculous, brother of Nicholas Lahiffe, the one you have come all this way in hopes of finding."
"How did you know he came to find-- Nevermind"
Chloe folded her arms. "Creepy stalker alert, everybody."
"Quiet, Chloe," Marinette said tiredly, directing her attention solely on the heroes before continuing. "Okay, so you know all of our identities. That should be mildly concerning, but given our present state and the serious lack of luck we've been having recently, I think I'll let it slide this time. How long have you known we would be coming?"
"Only about a day," spoke a girl dressed from head to toe in tan and yellow, her kwami obviously a lion. "Luupa's...vibes...only happen a short while in advance. I'm Mkango, by the way. Nice to finally meet you all." She glanced back at the others who were all lingering close. "This is Cygne Rose," She went on, gesturing to a girl all in pink and purple. "Reine Rapid." She nodded to the girl with all the colors. "Tigress." The girl dressed as the tiger waved, grinning. "GForce." The girl dressed in white and black splotches nodded a hello. "Finness." She gestured to a girl in light blue who saluted, her goggles reflecting the fading light. "And of course, that's Louve Nuit." She jerked her head toward the wolf girl.
