The change was instantaneous. It felt like charged lightning shooting through his veins, powerful and sharp, very unlike Wayzz's typical transformation. But this wasn't just Wayzz this time. Plagg was the cat of destruction. It was only logical that his powers would be stronger.

Heat erupted through his body and he found his limbs moving in a way that was not natural for his transformation. His suit morphed from dark green to almost pitch black and cold ice shot through his hands, urging him to draw up his headphones. He felt them mold around his hood, forming pointed ears. His goggles remained, but the lenses changed to a darker shade of green. He suspected his eyes would change to match. The weight on his shoulders vanished, his shield melting to combine with Chat's staff. He knew what that meant and he didn't even have to turn to know he had gained the cat-tail belt.

He'd literally morphed into a cat-turtle hybrid.

If this wasn't so exceptionally freaky, he would have loved it.

"Nino?"

Cautiously, he opened his eyes, still breathing heavily, finding his friends staring up at him with a mixture of awe and fear. He flexed his fingers, trying to steady his breaths and feeling the familiar latex gloves. They were still the same bright green and he found relief in that at least.

"Carapa--uh...Nino, how do you feel?"

Powerful. He could feel the energy coursing through his veins. He felt like he could do anything. Outrun a jet. Dodge a speeding train. Stop a madman from destroying the temple. "I...great. This feels great."

Adrien laughed weakly. "Black looks good on you, buddy."

"I prefer green"

"Eh, I prefer green." Nino shrugged, trying not to look at his friend's hands, soaked in his own blood. He flinched at the sound of Nicholas finally breaking free of Grimm's hold and the powerful crash of abilities clashing once more. "Are you okay, man?"

Adrien nodded and Marinette flinched as he tried to sit up. Alya was on his other side, trying to help but not taking her eyes off of Nino. Her look was clear. Go get 'em. Seeing that Adrien was in good hands, Nino took a deep breath and drew Chat's staff, twirling it experimentally, recalling from the depts of his memory how it felt back when he fought Anansi. This time, however, it held differently. Heavier. Like it knew he was supposed to wield it now.

"What's your plan, Ladybug?"

Marinette glanced up at him, startled to have him calling on her. He knew what her plan was. He'd known it from the very start. But Marinette was panicking, feeling like control was slipping from her grasp. He wanted to give as much of it as he could back to her.

"Uh...his miraculous!" she answered abruptly, catching on to his plan. "It's in his gloves! We have to get it from him somehow!"

"Great," Nino said, clenching and unclenching his fists. "And how do we do that?"

"You'll need my cataclysm for it to work"

"We can't," Marinette explained solemnly. "Only Plagg's cataclysm is strong enough to destroy a miraculous. Once it's off of him, I will use my power and make it brand new again. But Grimm will transform back and then the Guardians can haul him off to prison."

Do the Guardians even have a prison? Nino didn't know and now was not the time for a field trip to find out. "All right. Cata--use my power on Grimm's gloves and break his miraculous. Got it. But won't that hurt Trekk?"
