"This is officially the weirdest shit I've seen so far", Otto huffed as he looked at the golden dragon. "And I've seen a lot of weird shit in the last few years and for some reason, it always seems to be around fucking Pevensies". The dragon, Eustace apparently, looked up from where he was trying to knaw off the golden bracelet round it's arm and gave him a look. Otto raised and eyebrow and the dragon rolled his eyes.

"He must have been tempted by the treasure", Edmund suggested. The light of the sun set tinged the ground purple around them.

"Well, anyone knows a dragon's treasure is enchanted", Caspian stated. Eustace shot him a look and the man corrected himself. "Well anyone from here". He stepped away from the golden dragon and pressed close to Otto's side. The younger man was still muttering under his breath and Caspian smiled as he caught a few words. "Your mouth is rather filthy", he whispered lowly.

Otto grinned and leaned in closer to press a kiss to the king's cheek and whisper a reply. "Time and place". He reminded then changed his mind. "Later". Caspian smirked and Otto was glad to see familiar looks on him again. He had been growing worried but whatever was going on between Edmund and Caspian, it seemed to have died down for now. Caspian was himself again and Otto felt the warmth of hope grow brighter.

"Is there any way we can change him back?" Edmund asked with a pointed look at the couple. Otto intertwined one hand with Caspian's and shrugged. Lucy walked over to the dragon and pulled off the golden bracelet. Eustace let out a pained roar but remained scaly.

"Not that I know of", Caspian replied. He turned to Drinian but the captain just shook his head. Eustace made a low growling sound as Edmund let out a big sigh.

"Aunt Alberta will not be pleased". Eustace huffed loudly at the comment and stomped his foot on the sand.

"The boats are ready sire!" One of the men by the rowboats shouted.

"We can't leave him alone", Lucy voiced.

"Well we can't bring him on board your majesty", Drinian pointed out.

"Drinian. You and the men take one boat back. The rest of us will stay here till morning and figure something out", Caspian ordered.

"But you have no provisions and no means of staying warm", Rhince voiced. At that moment Eustace belched a long stream of fire at a pile of driftwood. The wood immediately caught ablaze and the dragon looked immensely proud of himself. Lucy and Edmund laughed.

"You were saying?" Reepicheep twitched his tail at their new campfire.

The night sky was full of stars. Hundreds of them up in the dark. Otto gazed up, one arm behind his head as his eyes picked out constellations in the inky blue blackness. A few feet away the fire crackled merrily. Eustace the dragon was curled up on one side, Lucy and Edmund lying asleep on a blanket on the other. The two pevensie children lying back to back, Lucy facing the fire and Edmund facing the sea. At Otto's side, close enough that his other arm was draped across his lap, Caspian sat back on his arms. Dark eyes turned up to the sky. "I have never seen these constellations before", Otto voiced quietly.

"Neither have I. We're a long way from home", the king replied softly. There was a nostalgic tone to his voice and Otto shifted. He turned and rolled enough to rest his head into Caspian's lap. The man glanced down and smiled at him as he raised a hand and gently began stroking his fingers through bronze strands. Otto smiled back sleepily, nuzzling into the touch. Caspian turned his eyes back up to the sky. "When I was a boy I imagined sailing to the edge of the world... Finding my father there".

Otto watched him. The flickering firelight bringing out the golden brown of his eyes in flashes and lighting their skin in gold. The position of the two kings reminiscent of that day in the field where Otto had been lost. "Maybe you will", He murmured.

Caspian hummed softly. "Maybe. One day". He turned his gaze back down to Otto and his brow creased in concern. "What's wrong?"

Otto inhaled, wondering how Caspian had read him so easily. "What do you mean?"

"You have this look in your eye", Caspian's accent was thick but voice gentle. Otto loved the way his accent curled the words. It was something uniquely Narnian. "Like you're worried. Almost cautious of me. Is this about the incident in the cave?"

Otto sighed as Caspian's long fingers smoothed over the stress in his temples. He let his eyes close and sunk into the touch. "This evil is playing with our minds. I am scared and worried for you, for our friends. I hear your nightmares about your father and I have to stop myself from waking up screaming from my own. What happened in the cave, I have never seen you or Edmund like that before. It was unnerving. So much has happened between us and I am scared that we will never last".

"Fear is healthy. It is only with fear that we can be brave", Caspian soothed. "I am sorry that I let my self scare you. I never would harm you. You know that".  He brushed a thumb over Otto's cheek and the younger boy smiled slightly. "We will succeed in our quest, I have faith in it. And I have faith in us. It will be work at times but our relationship will last. I lost you once and I don't want to loose you again".

"I don't want to loose you again either", Otto sighed softly. He raised one hand up and Caspian caught it and pressed a kiss against his knuckles. The action making him blush.

"And you won't. I promise".

"You can't promise things beyond your control", Otto whispered.

"I promise what is in my control". Caspian smiled as Otto tucked the dark strands behind his ear.

"Then I do the same", Otto replied. He yawned and reluctantly moved off of Caspian's lap. "Let's get some sleep", he huffed. He made himself comfy on a blanket over the sand and held out his hand questioningly. Caspian smiled then reached out to take it. He rolled onto his side and wrapped their joined hands's over Otto's waist. The warmth of the fire, and from each other was their lullaby and they fell asleep under the stars.

The next morning they were awoken by Lucy's excited voice. "Look! Everybody! Look!" Otto jerked away at the abrupt shouts and his sudden movement made Caspian blink at him sleepily. The darker haired man's head rising from where it had been resting on Otto's shoulder. He sat up and Otto followed suit, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he looked towards where Lucy was pointing. "The blue star!"

Low in the sky ahead, the wash of blue tinted pale yellow with dawn, hung a shining blue diamond. It glowed a deep dark blue, darker than that of the sky but lighter than the night. It seemed to call to them, the glow pulsing softly. Caspian and Otto blinked the sleepiness from their eyes and stared. They had a heading, a destination.
