West-Lake Hospital
After being unconscious for hours, Ximena finally comes to. A few minutes go by until a nurse knocks on the door. Ximena doesn't answer but the nurse invites herself in the room anyways.
"Oh, your finally awake." - Nurse
Ximena nods, feeling a bit confused. The last thing she remembers is an image of a girl holding a knife to her throat.
"We've been waiting. I've brought you water and some pills to take the edge off. I'm sure your head is pounding." - Nurse
Ximena slowly sits up in bed, struggling a bit.
"Take it easy. Being unconscious for as long as you were can lead to head trauma. So take your time. I'll be back with the doctor. He has to ask a few questions." - Nurse
An hour or so goes by before Ximena hears another knock at the door. The nurse opens the door, letting the doctor in.
"Ximena (EE-mee-Na), right? Just making sure I don't botch your name?" - Doctor
"Ximena (Za-MEE-na). Not the worst mistake. I've had people call me all kinds of names." - Ximena
"Sorry about that, Ximena. Well, it's good to finally see you awake." - Doctor
The doctor takes a quick glance around the room.
"Looks like your boyfriend left just before you could wake up." - Doctor
"Boyfriend?" - Ximena
"Oh, uh friend then? The tall handsome kid who brought you here. He told me everything but the police need a word from you to provide proof of his statement." - Doctor
"Statement?" - Ximena
The doctor laughs a little.
"Sorry, let's start from the beginning." - Doctor
The doctor checks Ximena IV bag and heart rate. Soon after, he clicks his pen on and pulls out a clipboard.
"Your name?" - Doctor
"X-Ximena Valentine." - Ximena
"Age and birthday?" - Doctor
"16, I'll be 17 in October....the first." - Ximena
"Good and lastly, do you know what hospital your at?" - Doctor
"It looks like West-Lake hospital." - Ximena
"Ok, excellent. Everything seems to be intact. So, why police? I'm sure your a bit confused" - Doctor
"Yeah, the last thing I remember was.....the girl, then the rest was a blur." - Ximena
"Sounds about right. The kid gave a whole statement and a description of the kids that did this to you and some other kids wound up in the hospital too. He made it clear of what happened but I'll let the police explain. I'm just here to make sure you qualify to make a statement." - Doctor
"S-so am I in trouble?" - Ximena
"No, I don't see how you could be. I'll be back with the officer." - Doctor
The doctor leaves and sends the nurse in. The nurse removes the IV bag and cuts off the heart rate monitor.
"The doctor said, your good to go after you meet with the officers." - Nurse
Ximena nods and sits up. The nurse finally walks out but immediately behind her is the police.
"Hey, Ximena right?" - Officer
"Yeah, oh first time I've heard someone say my name right first try." - Ximena
"I'd hate to take credit for that. I spoke with the doctor before meeting with you." - Officer
