CHAPTER 22

Dumitra

Tiana took a deep breath and started chanting some inaudible words, the circle around Meave started to glow and so were Tiana's hands. The chanting got louder and we felt the floor start to check, I felt Blaze hold on to my shirt as we watched Meave shake uncontrollably.

Tiana's eyes turned completely white and we could see dark smoke wrap around her body. I had no idea was going on, we just kept watching.

Meave stopped shaking all of a sudden and Tiana dropped to her knees, her nose was bleeding but not once did she stop chanting. Then everything stopped, the chanting, the shaking and the heartbeat, the only heartbeat that I was paying attention to wasn't there anymore. No... please Meave...don't go...

Tiana opened her eyes and she looked at me her eyes held something that I never noticed, she kept on staring at me while breathing hard. Her eyes rolled back in her head and we heard a loud scream come out of her and a weird power come out making us take a step back. A strong wind circled Meave lifeless body and Tiana who was sitting next to her, the wind kept going fast around them until we couldn't see them.

We didn't know what was happening inside the tornado, and we didn't know if this ritual worked or not. We just stared at everything in the living room get eaten by the strong wind.

"Come on..." I whispered hoping to see something, the tornado slowly calmed down and we could finally see Meave's head laying on Tiana's legs. The fairy looked exhausted, she smiled and looked down at Meave who suddenly turned to the side and started puking a black liquid.

"I- did it..." Tiana whispered weakly, her eyes rolled back in her head and I watched her body fall next to Meave. I quickly ran to them and checked on Tiana who was barely breathing, Blaze was making sure Meave was okay and I picked up Tiana and ran to the castle's infirmary. Her eyes were barely open.

"D-dumitra..." She whispered, I looked down at her in my arms and gave her a smile.

"Shhh, you're gonna be fine T" I said rushing inside, her face had a small smile when she passed out again. The doctor put an oxygen mask on her and injected her with something to help her body regain a little power so she can breathe better.

I sat next to the bed and held her hand, she slowly opened her eyes and gave me a weak smile.

"Hey..." I said, she pulled her mask down and I felt her hand squeeze mine.

"I think I'm a goddess" she said chuckling, I rolled my eyes but gave her a smile.

"Why do you think that?" I asked her,

"Your mate...died." she said making me realize the moment earlier when Meave's heartbeats stopped was when she died.

"When I looked at you...and saw hope in your eyes, I knew how much you love her and how much I was wrong..." She started trying to control her breathing,

"Love is much stronger than hatred...and I wished you looked at me the way you looked at her...but I'm not your mate after all and even though I'm not I didn't want to see you heartbroken Dumitra, because losing someone you love and cherish is the worst pain you could ever feel." She explained to me and I was completely speechless, I had no idea what to say or where to look while she stared at me with pain in her eyes.

"I love you Dumitra... I really do but I love that you're happy and that's why I came here. Seeing you like that yesterday broke my heart and I wanted to try, I mean it almost cost me my life but...it was worth it. I am the strongest fairy after all" she said smugly, I laughed and patted her hand softly. I stood up and planted a small kiss on her forehead, she smiled and gently touched my cheek.

"I know you wanna go check on Meave, you should go. I need to take a very long nap to recharge the power I lost trying to bring your mate from the dead" she pushed my face away from her and put her mask back on closing her eyes.

I ran back to the living room and it was a fuckin mess, the furniture was broken the floor was cracked the walls were dirty but the only good thing was Meave laying on Blaze's legs.

"Meave..." I said walking closer to her, she opened her eyes and yawned. She must me tired as well. I kissed her hand and caressed the hairs out of her face.

"I'm glad you're okay..." I whispered, she nodded too tired to talk and we heard small snores coming from her. Well she fell asleep very quickly.

The next morning, Tiana woke up as energetic as she can be and had breakfast with us. She still looked tired but she said she just needed more sleep and she'll be doing that back at her castle. Meave on the other hand was running around like a pup, the first thing she did when she woke up was race Kaden to prove that she was still faster and stronger, and me, well I'm just glad everyone was okay.

I walked Tiana to the door where her guards were waiting by the car, she stepped closer to me and kissed me, on the cheek, but very close to the corner of my lips.

"Good bye Dumitra" she whispered, I watched her get in the car and waited until they went out of the gates then went back inside where Blaze had her arms crossed.

"GoOd bYe DuMiTrA" she mimicked Tiana, I bursted out laughing while Blaze just rolled her eyes.

"She literally saved Meave, she brought her back from the dead and you're jealous?" I asked jokingly, I tried to wrap my arms around her but she slipped from me.

"Yeah go ask her to bring your dick back when I cut it" she threatened making me cringe at the thought of what she said.

"You have a weird kink babe..." I joked following after her as she huffed stomping back to our room. Well I better make it up to her before she really chops my dick off...
