You were driving to your new home in Ikebukuro with your mother and your father. After your father had gotten a better job with much more pay, you and your mother were thrilled at the time. It was a job in a completely different town. How relieved you were to be leaving your old life behind. The new town interested you as it was known for its unusually environment.
You got tired of living in a place where everyone competed with each other. You stayed away from them, you were independent, and mostly kept to yourself. The very thought of it always being that way struck you. No matter where you go, will humans always act so selfish?
Your father was driving, while at the same time arguing with your mother over how much work they put into supporting the family. You didn't have any siblings, thank god, you thought. As you listened to them fight, you pulled out your earbuds and stuck them in your ears. They always seemed to fight over the same subject constantly, you were warming up to it. A few more months of a part-time job, and you were planning on moving out to start your own life.
"You have no idea how hard it is to work for 16 hours straight! All you do is sit your ass behind a desk and take calls for 9 hours!" Your father yelled, defending himself as your mother struck her hand against his cheek.
"It doesn't matter how much work you do, you should still devote time to your family! I hate coming home to your snoring!" She cried out as he fisted up his hand.
You watched as your mother kept slapping him as he made more remarks. You and her both knew your father had anger issues, he would always yell at you, while your mother would tear his ears out for it.
You switched songs as you looked out the window and noticed rain clouds coming in. It was getting darker and the road became more unstable. Their screams became more violent, it was no longer about working. It was as if they had secrets and decided to spill them all out at once. This wasn't the right time, you were suppose to stay with them until you could move out.
"I knew I should've loved a better man than you. You have no self respect for you or the family you so as much care about!" your mother yelped in a final attempt as her eyes grew with tears.
"There's nobody you could find that's better than me, you're such a weak minded puppet. Who would ever love you, I'm married to you and I regret it with a passion."
How long will they keep this up? You turned to look away from the window and face them, you couldn't hear what your mother had been saying, but as soon as you turned towards them, your father removed his seat belt and jumped across his seat.
He lunged at her and clawed his fingers into her neck. She was shocked and unable to fight back. You didn't know how to react as you realized he let go of the wheel and had been choking your mother. Choking? Was that really happening? The car swirved left and right and you couldn't keep your balance in the seat. You rushed to unbuckle the only thing holding you back from protecting your mother, but you couldn't find the clasp. Your hands started to shake uncontrollably. Please don't hurt her! Please just drive! PLEASE! You screamed in your head.
Everything had occured so fast as you were blinded by a pair of truck headlights upon the windshield and another pair on the opposite side coming towards you. The last thing you seen was the dark shadowy figures of your father squeezing each tiny breathe out of your mother's throat. After that, a loud buzz rung through your head and everything turned black.
