Chapter 5

You were currently in school, attempting to listen to the teachers lecture. But you couldn't stop thinking about Yuki. Every time you tried thinking about something else, your mind would just drift back to him. Which is crazy because you are obviously a fantastic student but you couldn't even focus on your class right now.

Of course You don't like Yuki, Yuki is just a friend you don't even know him so how could you have a crush on him.

"Ms L/n, you seem to be a bit preoccupied. Care to share with the class?" Your teacher asked, clearly annoyed.

"S-sorry, I was just thinking about the assignment." You responded, flustered for being called out.

Your teacher shook her head in annoyance but continued on with the class. You turned your head and saw Hanajima looking at you strangely.

Oh right she has that wave thingy, does that mean she can tell what's going on with me?

You shook your thoughts from your head and forced yourself to pay attention to the class.

"Alright class is dismissed. The assignment is due next week and if they are turned in late, I'm taking points off!" Your teacher yelled to the class.

Eager for lunch break, you and the other students gathered their backpacks and headed out the door.

As you were walking out, someone grabbed your arm.You let out a yelp in surprised and then turned to see who grabbed it. Hanajima and Uotani were standing behind you.

"You scared the daylights out of me." You said putting your hand on your heart.

"We noticed that you were a little distracted in class. I also noticed that your waves were stronger than they normally are." Hanajima stated ignoring your comment.

You stood there trying to think of a way to get out of this conversation.

"Ya know Y/n, you did seem a little flustered the whole class." Uotani said.

"I was just thinking about the class and stuff." You responded mumbling during the last part.

"Your waves are off again. It's like I'm sensing... attraction?"

Your eyes widen and internally you start to freak out. How the heck did Hanajima know that? You knew about her wave thing but you didn't think it was real.

"You know I actually have to get to lunch. I'm a slow eater and the more time I have the better!" You let out before walking away.

"She definitely likes someone." Uotani spoke, Hanajima nodded as both girls watched you walk off.

You think you did a pretty good job at coming up with an excuse. You let out a smile as you walk to the lunch room.

Maybe they didn't assume you like someone. It's not like it could get any worse than that.

It in fact did get worse.

You were simply going to get your food and then leave to eat in the library but no, in fact here you are eating with Hanajima, Uotani, Tohru, Yuki, and lastly, Kyo. Kyo, who was glaring at you every time he looked your way.

Tohru had seen you about to walk out the door and her being the sweet girl she is invited you to sit with her and her friends. Of course you couldn't just say no so there you were, feeling very uncomfortable.

You had decided not to look at anyone and just to keep your head low while picking at your food. All of the sudden you hadn't felt terribly hungry. You just couldn't decide wether it was from Hanajima and Uotani knowing you liked someone, or Yuki sitting across from you, or Kyo constantly glaring at you, or maybe it was all of the above.

"Y/n are you okay? You've been awfully quiet, and you're not eating." Tohru asked you putting her hand on your shoulder. Causing everyone to turn their heads towards you.

"I noticed that too. Are you not feeling well? I could take you to the nurse?" Yuki responded.

You're heart had started beating a little quicker, and you could feel yourself start blushing a little.

"I'm fine, I just ate on the way here and I'm still pretty full." You stated even though it was a lie.

"You sure? You seem a bit flustered." Uotani commented.

You looked at Uotani, who had a small smile on her face. If she didn't know who you liked or if you liked anyone before she definitely does now. I mean you're not exactly hiding it well.

"I'm great thank you guys for worrying though. I'm just a little warm right now." You assured.

"Well as long as you're okay!" Tohru chirped.

Everyone turns their attention back to their original conversation, something about the break coming up. You didn't really want to get involved with the conversation considering you will just stay home or work the whole break.

Throughout this whole conversation, Kyo's glare stayed on you, you had thought paying him no attention would make him look away but you were wrong. Even though you were annoyed with Kyo you realized that you were out of line talking about him. He could've just had a bad day and you egged him on. You realized you should probably apologize again.

As if on cue Kyo mutters something, stands up, and walks away. You take this as a chance to talk to him and stand up as well.

"Y/n, where are you going?" Tohru asked.

"Oh I just have to use the bathroom. I'll be back soon." You answered.

The group nods and you turn and walked in the direction Kyo walked. You wandered the halls for a good few minutes before seeing Kyo. You sighed in relief because you thought you wouldn't be able to find him.

"Kyo!"

Kyo turned his head to look at who called him and then he saw your face, glared again, and began walking away. You scoffed from the pettiness in him but decide to catch up to him. You caught up to him and grabbed his arm.

"Kyo, I know you hate me and I just want to apologize and say I'm sorry. I was out of line for being a jerk yesterday, and I totally get why you're upset with me. Please forgive me, I'm so sorry." You apologized.

He pulled his arm away from you and scoffed.

"Look y/n, I want nothing to do with you. You can go be buddies with Tohru and Yuki, but me?" You stepped back surprised from his words, tears starting to form in your eyes. "I don't want to be around you or be friends with you or any of that. I don't like you and I'm not going to start anytime soon."

You wouldn't say you were sensitive but you definitely wouldn't say words didn't affect you. The only reason you were crying is because you didn't want to cry in front of Kyo. He is in fact a big fat jerk.

Kyo was staring at you when he noticed the tears in your eyes. You saw a look of guilt but you had looked away from him.

"Okay, I understand that's how you feel." You said, before walking away from him.

You had decided to walk to the bathroom and on the way let the tears fall.

"That was shitty of you Kyo."

Kyo jumped looking to see who spoke. And there was Yuki, leaning against the lockers.

"I wasn't gonna lie to her, stupid rat." Kyo snapped.

Yuki rolled his eyes before walking away.

"You should get used to her, she's going to be around a lot more. Maybe you should even apologize considering you're just a grumpy old cat." Yuki yelled while walking.

Kyo stood wanting to curse that stupid rat out but decided against it. He wasn't gonna get detention today.
