The truth behind the kiss

Everyone knows the famous infamous barchie kiss correct? Well people know it to be Betty and Archie kissed and had a whole makeout session with crushed Veronica and Jughead sure hearts causing Varchie and Bughead to collapse and part ways after highschool.

Time jump 7 years later they're all back, in a booth at pops. Jughead and Veronica on one side and Betty and Archie on the other side. It's complete silence amongst the four of them. It was more like akward silence. I mean hell Betty and Archie did cheat on them. Veronicas boyfriend and bestfriend kissed and Jugheads girlfriend and bestfriend kissed.

Atleast that's what they thought. 

"Okay look guys, the kiss was 7 years ago I understand if you guys can't let it go but I miss my best friends. We're all in our twenties now. We should be able to handle this situation like real adults. Okay? we don't have to put all of this aside but can we atleast try friends again. Not even friends atleast talking?" Betty spoke to the table. "How can I trust you two again?" Veronica asked "It'll be hard to but that's why we're taking it slow and easy" Archie answered

Veronica sighed and looked at Jughead who looked right back at her and shrugged "Okay, but only if Jughead agrees" Veronica said. Betty and Archie looked at Jughead as he looked up from his hands that were placed on hip lap. He sighed "Okay fine, but I'm not doing highschool shit anymore." "Deal" Archie said.

Later that night after catching up Archie walked Veronica back to her house they didn't say much do to the fact Archie was trying to respect her and her happy marriage. (This really is an AU if Archie is treating a girl right🙄😩😜)

On the other hand Betty and Jughead we're silent for the most part until Betty spoke "Jughead look I'm actually truly very sorry for what I did in highschool I'll never forgive myself for what I still think to this day what if I never cheated" Signing quotation marks around the "cheated" part.  "Why'd you so that?" Jughead said stopping and looking at her

Betty stopped as well and looked at him "Do what?" "Quotation marks when you said cheated?" Jughead questioned confusingly "Oh uh nothing my bad, old habit I guess sorry" Jughead and Betty continued walking in complete silence until they reached Betty's house.

"Thank you for walking me home, it means alot and thank you for at least talking with me again too" Betty said as she unlocked her front door. "It was nothing really I enjoyed it, goodnight Cooper" "Goodnight Jughead" Betty walked into her house and closed the door as Jughead walked away walking to his home.

That night all Jughead could think about was the kiss. Jugheads phone got a notification he looked at it and saw two attachments 1 of a video. He looked at it and couldn't believe what he saw and heard.

It was a video from 7 years ago of Betty and Archie in Archies garage right after the big fight between Betty and Jughead as well as Archie and Veronica.

In the video it showed Archie trying to kiss Betty not Betty leaning into a kiss but her trying to get away. But Archie was holding her hips when it completely showed Betty wanting to get out of his grip. Before Betty could back away Archie kissed her and that was  the second attachment, which was the picture that got to the whole Riverdale High 7 years ago which broke the two famous couple.

Jughead dialed Betty's number as quickly as possible "Hello?" A voice answered "Betty? Meet me at the back of Pops in 10" Then he hung up and left.

Once he arrived to Pops Betty was already there. "Why in the back of Pops?" Betty asked but before it could be answered he showed her the video "I- Jughead look I'm so sorry I just thought that-" "No Betty it's not your fault we could've stayed together if you didn't lie. You know that right? But you just had to lie didn't you?"

"If I didn't lie he was gonna say something" "PLEASE- who Archie? Damn right he was he can't do shit to save his life" "Jughead I know you may be upset but-" "Look I'm not, not at all. I can't after I see proof even though it was 7 years ago i now know the truth and everything okay?"

Betty sighed and hugged Jughead he was hesitant at first but then hugged her back. "Thank you for everything" Betty said softly "Of course"

Betty back up and looked at him "sooo friends again?" "Definitely"

After that night Betty and Jughead always talked they became best friends again and something even more.
