Chapter 00:  "The one that got away." ☄

Third Person's POV

                This will be the last time, pangako niya sa sarili. Ito na talaga ang magiging huli.

He broke down, tears fell from his emerald eyes, his heart shattered into pieces, all the sweet memories with her, played inside his mind vividly, as if it just all happened yesterday. 

Wag. Don’t say that he has forgotten because he still hasn’t.

Two years that seemed so slow to him had passed, but he was still the same.

He loves her so much. Without her, he can’t be him. He is not complete.

"Hey, muffin." Mahina nitong sabi at lumuhod sa harap niya. Sa kaliwa nitong kamay ay mahigpit ang hawak nito sa mga bulaklak na kaniyang dala.

"Are you happy?" Pinunasan nyang mga luha nya at pilit na ngumiti, "What is it like there?"

Nakakabinging katahimikan ang sumagot sa kaniya.

He was expecting that. Dammit.

He dusted her off and continued, "I know they all love you there. Why wouldn't they? You're like a ray of sunshine that can warm up anyone in no time when they get to know you. Though you are also like a raging storm when you get mad."

He gave her tulips, paborito niya ito. Napangiti sya sa naalala, "Here are your babies, tulips. Aren't they pretty? I tried my best to take care of them, but I bet they prefer you taking care of them."

Warm tears escaped his eyes, "I love you, muff." He gasped, "I miss you so much."

"I will be with you soon, L." With that, he smiled and gave one final look at her grave.

Pagewang-gewang ang mga hakbang niya at pagod na pagod na sya. He hasn't eaten anything and he failed to count how many days had passed.

He is alive but he is not living. He doesn't care about himself anymore.

Life has lost its meaning without her.

Kahit hirap na sa paglalakad ay pinilit nyang marating ang dulo ng asul na karagatan. Hindi naman sya binigo ng kaniyang mga paa. Iniikot nyang paningin nya sa paligid ng private beach, sya lang ang naririto. Ito ang secret place nila nung nabubuhay pa ito.

Silang dalawa lang ang nakakaalam ng bahaging ito. Kubli kasi ito at may kalayuan kaya wala masyadong nagpupunta rito.

Ngumiti sya at pinagmasdan ang papalubog ng araw, "I wanna watch the sun set with you again. But this time, we'll be both watching it.." He shook his head. "Can we even do that? I mean, is heaven the same as being in the sky? I have no idea, L. I probably wouldn't be accepted in Heaven though, but I'll still find my way there to be with you."
