Chapter 1: "The one where it all started." ☄

 

"Lulu, Are you sure you really don't wanna hang out with us?" Tanong ulit ng kaibigan kong si Kimmy sa akin.

Naglalakad na kami papalabas ng room, ako, si Kimmy at si Xena. They were both asking me if I could come with to their friends' house for their party. Mga kababata ko sila at we've been friends since forever. Seriously, grade 5.

Kakatapos lang ng Painting class namin. Yes, we are all Fine Arts students.

"Thanks but I'll pass, Kimmy. I still have a lot of things to do." I gave her an apologetic smile, fidgeting my fingers at my back.

I lied, wala naman talaga akong gagawin. It's just that I'm not a social butterfly.

Besides, I'm not that close to their circle of friends. I mean, yeah, alam kong pareho nilang di hahayaang ma-out of place ako pero ayoko namang hindi nila iyon ma enjoy dahil lang sa akin.

Kimmy, being the understanding friend of mine, or either she just knows me really well, simply nodded and smiled back at me.

At kung may Yin ang Yang, may Xena rin ang Kimmy. 

They are siblings, Kimmy's two years older than Xena, and they're totally opposite from each other. Kimmy's soft-spoken and too formal while Xena's the wild and crazy one.

Ipinatong ni Xena ang kanang kamay nya sa balikat ko. "Oh come on, Plain Jane!"

 

She naughtily nudged me, "Don't be such a party pooper! Sumama ka na! Dali na!"

I averted my eyes from Kimmy to her and laughed, "Yah! Stop calling me that, Xen!! Marami lang talaga akong gagawin!"

Hindi parin sya kumbinsado, "Sumama ka na, Lulu! I'll give you uhhm..." she paused. "--Ah! Muffins! Blueberry muffins! Kapag pumunta ka, Lulu!!"

My ears perked up when she said muffins. Kainis, she's using my weakness to get me!

I, Lulu Williams, won't give in.

I turned my blank face on and faced her, "No. Busy talaga ako, Xena."

She sighed knowing her plan didn't work at me, and Kimmy just shook her head at us.

Feeling guilty, I immediately added, "Sorry talaga! Next time, promise! I'll go!"

Mukhang natuwa naman si Xena sa sinabi ko. Kimmy tapped my shoulder.

"Fine, next time ha! Pag hindi ka pa pumunta, ikaw na ang reyna ng ka-KJ-han!" pang aasar ni Xena.

Tumango ako at ngumiti.
