I walk side to side through the whole room with my hands shaking. I look at the natural flower bouquet in my hands and look at the expensive engagement ring in my left ring finger. I shake my head while watching myself in the whole body mirror that's in the room. This dress looks horrible on me and I don't like mermaid style.
-My little girl. - I look at the room door to see my father with an expensive black suit. He analyses me with his look and smiles at me - You look beautiful.
I roll my eyes and move uncomfortably because of the dress.
-Really? I look like a slut with this dress. - I tell him angrily, trying to accomodate the top part of the dress
-Princess, you should be happy. Today you're getting married. - I stop battling with the dress to look at my father.
-Am I getting married for love? - I ask him sarcastically, making his smile disappear - No, I'm getting married because my dad hates me and my 'fiance' is his childhood friend.
Before he could answer, my father's secretary, who's my maid of honor, enters the room.
-It's time. - My father nods, and with a hand gesture, orders her to retire. When we're alone again, he looks back at me.
-You better act well and have a pretty smile on your face because there are many journalists here and I don't think you want to cause any trouble. - I look away while he walks towards the door - I'll be waiting for you at the altar!
I contain my tears and, sighing, I look at the natural flower bouquet. I walk towards the room door. When I arrive at the garden door, I see all the guests that are waiting for the bride.
-They'll have to keep waiting. - I say firmly throwing the bouquet to the floor and taking off my white heels. I look at the man with who I'm marrying and realise that he died his hair to hide his grey hairs.
I walk barefoot towards the garage with my car keys in hand. I open the door, trying to take off the veil but I just mess up my hair. Still outside of the car, I destroy the horrible mermaid dress, leaving some pieces of fabric on the ground. When I have more freedom in my movements, I enter the car to escape from my own wedding. I look through the rearview, realising that all the guests stop after seeing my car coming out. I open the window and immediately hear my father's scream.
-Juliette! - I smile mockingly and take out my left hand to show my middle finger.
I close the window and make my way to the Alaska airport with a smile. I lower the speed for a moment. My mother's engagement ring was on my left ring finger. I stop looking at it to look at the road and realise that there are two guys in the way. I hit the breaks a shut my eyes, waiting for hitting the guys but it didn't happen. I open my eyes with heavy breathing, realising that the car was able to stop in time. The guys smile and I look at the car that's parked for a moment, realising that it's a van.
