I hated to leave her but I had stayed to long as it is. Persephone's head rests on my chest, her body tucked perfectly against mine. Her freckled face is relaxed with no sins of worry in whatever dream she is living in at the moment.
I ease myself out of the bed laying her gently on a pillow to take my place. Brushing her hair back I kiss her temple before transporting myself back to the Underworld. If I had stayed any longer I either wouldn't have come back or I would have brought her with me. Earth be damned. But that isn't what she would have wanted.
Her presence is missed and not just by me. Cerberus has moped around whining as if she isn't coming back. She will, just not at this time. It will be difficult for both of us each time she has to go away but I don't doubt we will make it. She will be my Queen and the thought of that causes warmth to spread through this otherwise numb body.
This evening had been fulfilling, her presence alone eases the consuming innerdarkness. She has a calming force that wraps around me. Being able to just bewith her is more than enough. I love every aspect of her, whether it bephysical or conversational. I take whatever she will give. Though the physicalpart satisfies a deeper urge that only she brings forth. There will be no greater pleasure than tohave her back home beside me.
