I don' t know if I should do it or not.
I mean the last time I had any outside-of-school contact with him was in sixth grade. I was naive and didn't know what I was doing so I blocked him.
I look up from my phone at the bathroom mirror. My green eyes stare blankly back at me, fly-aways peeking out of the braids I put my wavy brunette hair in this morning.
I text Avery back and tell her to give him my snap. Worst case scenario I can always block him.
I get a friend request from him a minute later and I think that this could have either been the best or worst decision of my entire life.
----------his pov----------
I did it, I asked Avery if I could have Hannah's snap. She had a big glow up while we hadn't seen each other. I never thought I'd be asking for the annoying teacher's pet's snap.
----------her pov----------
I'm honestly nervous. He's the first boy I have ever added on snap and better yet, my dad won't know. Granted he didn't know he had my number, but that's a whole different story.
I accept the request and get a typing notification not even a minute later.
"hey" is all it says. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't that. "hi" is all I say back because, well, I'm new at the whole "talking to boys" even if I have known the kid since like, forever.
We continue on the small-talk for about ten minutes when the conversation dies out, and I go to read, or sit on my phone with a book in my lap. I've been in a reading slump for a while now, it really sucks.
I get a notification from him and I ignore it, seeing as its not a priority over the pov im watching on the forsaken clock app. I remember that I have notifications after about thirty minutes of scrolling and go to open all of the two that I got.
He sent a picture of his ceiling (I guess people do that I don't know) so I do the same. As boys do he takes forever to respond, which doesn't bother me. I have my own stuff to do and I don't need any distractions right now.
My dad is saying we're gonna move in with Cece, or Cecilia, and her kids since we lost the house. Right now we're staying with my grandparents, and honestly I love it. I get to spend so much time with them its nice.
Cece is my dad's girlfriend and I honestly love her. She's a big upgrade from the last one, who like, was literally the evil stepmother in the flesh. I'm glad that her leaving brought me and my dad closer together, its been fun.

After a few hours of snapping back and forth, he sends me a song, Its "Say It Ain't So" by Weever. I listened to it, its a pretty good song.
School is starting in a few days and he asks me if I'm excited.
yea, ig i am, wbu? I reply.
yea, same you nervous?
kinda, im both excited and nervous
same
goodnight, imma go to sleep
goodnight
I shut my phone off and roll over in my bed, staring at the ceiling. I'm thinking all about how the school year will go when I drift off.
I wake up the next morning to the sound of the blender, Grandma's making smoothies, yes! I turn over and pick up my phone, as usual, I have three notifications, two of which are from my dad.
I get up to get ready, picking out my favorite pair of ripped jeans and a faded band t-shirt that used to be my Aunt Morgan's. I brush and put my hair in a messy fishtail and walk to the kitchen.
"Morning, sleepyhead!" my grandma says when I walk into the kitchen.
"Good morning, grandma." I say, kissing her on the cheek, "What kind of smoothies are you making today?" I ask her.
"Mango strawberry, I already made you one, its there on the counter."
"Thanks, I love your smoothies so much."
As I'm taking my first drink of smoothie, my phone vibrates in my pocket. I pick it up to see a notification from, yep you guessed it, Dylan. I open it and to my complete and utter surprise, it says "hey".
I promise it will pick up a little in the next chapter. Hannah and Dylan are very boring until, like September, which is one time skip away, because nothing really happens between now and then. Anyways, I hoped you liked it, even though it was boring. Drink a little water and eat a little something.
