They huffed, wiping the blood off their face as they looked around. The sky was gray and the trees were gloomy. The blood and scattered useless blades and remains of fallen cadets. (Y/n) averted their eyes from the depressing scene, looking straight ahead at another depressing scene. But not as sad.
They walked through the big forest, bodies here and there. No sounds of stomping or whining. Just silence. Only the sound of leaves crunching as (Y/n) walks. They didn't know what to do, what to think about. They ran their hands through their hair, exhaling a breath they didn't know they had held in as they watched their steps. They ran out of gas and have one pack of blades left. They wonder if they'll even make it.
They began to walk faster until it turned into a speedwalk. A jog. A run. A sprint. Their hair moving in the wind as the tears fell from their eyes, their bottom lip quivering as they sniffed. They sprinted through the lifeless nature packed and packed on what seemed like endless hills. They continued to run but stopped. The sound of something filling their ears. They looked around, examining everything in their sight. They walked around until the sound became more noticeable. It was groaning. The groaning of a human, they think. They hope. Who knows what more creatures they have out there in this pathetic world.
They breathed in, bawling their fist as they gathered their courage. They waited a few seconds.
"Hello?" They called out. A gasp echoed throughout the trees. "H-hello! Hey!" A weak attempt of yelling was heard.
They jumped into action, running and calling out for a reply to navigate the voice.
"Where are you and who are you?"
"I-Im.. gah, by a tree with.. n-not much leaves, no leaves.. even.." the voiced coughed and it radiated through the whisk of nature. (Y/n) looked up at all the trees, going in the direction their gut says to go to. A tree with a scant amount of leaves, it's like they aren't even there. Their eyes trailed down the tall tree to the stump to find a bloodied blonde laying against it.
"..m-my name is-"
(Y/n) realized who they were looking at.
"Armin!" They shrieked as they hastened over to the blonde boy. He looked up in hope of someone he knew and not a delusion of his little blood left not flowing to his brain. He saw (Y/n) run up to him, gazing down at him in great dread. They fell to their knees, their hands reaching Armin.
Armins ocean blues contemplated into (Y/n)s (e/c) terror filled eyes. Their face was filth-ed up with dirt and blood. Their eyes wandered all over Armin, so many injuries it's hard to count. It's hard to believe. The suspicion sparked as they caught another wound on his arm.
"Don't mind those. It's really just these." Armin motioned to his badly wounded legs and stomach.
"A titan grabbed me and I manages to escape its grasp. But my blades impaled me in the process of doing so and the jabs on my arms are.." he stopped.
"I don't know."
He looked away, "my mind is hazy." He complained. (Y/n) looked in sympathy and a doleful face. They swooped their arm under Armin, picking him up.
"No.."
They looked down at him in confusion. "Put me down.. please."
"If we stop now, the longer it'll take to get to headquarters."
"Th-thats the point. With me.. y-youll be stopping too many times." He muttered, "lay me down."
(Y/n) gazed in disbelief. "Armin, no."
The blonde unlinked his legs over and under (Y/n)s strong arms and he winced in pain. (Y/n) grasped onto him and gently placed him down to avoid much pain. They inspected Armin with sorrowful eyes. "Armin, don't go that route."
