No matter what the soldiers do, there's always gonna be those rude military police and fellow folks of the city. Soldiers have to keep their mouths shut, don't cause commotion. Listen, and walk away. Or walk away once it starts if you can, avoid much conflict with others that isn't associated with the Survey Corps. Unfortunately, Armin was put in that place today. People would figure Armin knew how to keep himself calm during such a situation bit today... was not the day.
The angry citizen chewed at Armin with no resentment. He yelled and screamed and roared, releasing every bit of anger left inside him. "Listen up, you wi-"
"See, I have a name." The blonde spoke up from under his hood. The man stood there, angry and confused.
"I have a name. It's Armin Arlert. Use it." He huffed bawling his right hand into a fist with agony.
"I don't need to use anything, lazy ass, so you listen here, nice and carefully."
"Lazy ass isn't a proper nickname for someone like me, sir." His blue ocean eyes shined like stars through the dark, his blonde locks shined like gold.
"You need to acknowledge that I just came back from war. War! I was outside, the other side of that wall, for days! Evenings! Nights! Mornings! All of it! With no rest or food, we fought and fought for you. So we can have a better future, we fought, and some of our soldiers have fought to death today and I'm lucky by a 1% chance to not have ended up like them. I may not be so big, or tall, or strong, but I was still out there. I still saw those titans, all that blood, all that screaming and crying, I've witnessed it all. I was brave enough to risk my life for you. For everyone. Don't call anyone a wimp, but a soldier.." Armin sighed. He closed his eyes, pursing his lips together. Beside him sat (Y/n) on her horse.
Armin opened his eyes slightly and leaned forward, "Do not ever call a soldier a wimp or lazy ass."
The man was wordless.
He huffed and chuckled, "Your one of those Shiganshina kids, huh?" |hopefully I got it right|
"What?"
"The fall of Shiganshina. Poor you, from such a place." The man clicked his tongue and shook his head mockingly. This was Armin's last straw. Today was not the day for him to be messed with.
"What did you say about my hometown?! What did you say!!?" Armin pulled on the straps of the horse. His eyes were wide and filled with anger, his voice louder than ever.
"Armin!" (Y/n) reached out. Her (e/c) eyes wandered from the man to Armin as she struggled to grab a hold of the angry blonde.
Armin motioned himself to get off his horse. "Say that again, say it again! What do you have to say about Shiganshina, tell me! What do you have to say!?"
Eren turned his head from his horse in front. Mikasa hopping off her horse.
"Armin! Get it together, you'll get in trouble!" (Y/n) yelled, stopping her horse. Armin whipped his head around, his face fuming.
"Listen, Armin." Mikasa glared at Armin then at the man before shifting back to her own source of transportation. Eren shot daggers at the man, gritting his teeth.
(Y/n) leaned over, almost tipping off her own horse. She grabbed Armin by his collar and pulled him roughly. "You get back on your horse and we leave, got it? Do not cause any more scenes." She whispered. His breath was heavy and his eyes were dead shot angry. His eyebrows were furrowed and his hands ready to fight.
"You will be punished severely if this gets bigger! Be the bigger man and stop it now. Listen to me or be beat shit!" She let go of him with a slight shove and fixed herself on her own horse. She glanced at him once. Then a second time. Then she took off with the rest. Armin watched as she went and sighed, cooling off and realizing his mistake.
"Sir... h-have a good day." He spit out, grinding his teeth and walking away with his horse. Mikasa followed behind, keeping watch. He sped his horse to catch up with (Y/n).
He gazed at her for a split second before turning away. He looked at her again and looked down.
"I don't usually do this." He muttered.
"I know you don't."
"I just won't let myself be disrespected anymore.." His blue eyes traveled around his surroundings.
"You shouldn't."
"I-I have a name! People should use it. I'm not some coward anymore and I'm gonna show them that." He looked at her. She looked up ahead with a great poker face. She stayed silent.
"I didn't mean for it to get so big." Regret was laced along his tongue.
"I know you didnt. We all make mistakes."
"I'll let everyone know that I'm different now."
Her eyes locked with his. "And how do you plan to do that? Yell at a local towner?" Armin's lips seared together in thought as his eyebrows knitted together in distress. "I won't do it again." He spoke with shame in his eyes.
"You better not. Do you know the consequences of your actions? It could end up really bad, Armin, you need to think about that." She flipped her hair out of her face.
"I understand you don't do this often, and I believe you because I'm usually there. You're usually calm. But when you're not, it's dangerous. You don't think, you go with whatever comes to mind first and I'm sure you have some subconscious that tells you it isn't right but as I said, you don't think. You ignore the thoughts. I can just imagine the list of punishments. It hurts me to picture you in them." She closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. "You have a good self control at most, just learn to keep it even at edge. The way they treat you isn't right but remember, you have a higher role and it's easier to lose than gain and that role has its downturns."
He listened to her pep talk, his common sense pouring back into him. He curses under his breath, pushing his knuckles into his thigh angrily. He lectured himself for his embarrassing dumbness and slacking off. It wasn't like him. After she finished speaking everything left to an awkward silence. (Y/n) showing no emotion, Armin silently punishing himself in shame and guilt swarmed in his mind. The sound of townsmen and women, laughing children, and the clanging against the cemented floor of the horses hoofs.
Finally, the lady had spoken up, "Don't beat yourself up because of this." Armin raised his head as his eyes drilled into her.
"Like you said, you're the soldier, and like I said, be the bigger man." She finally met his eyes, "Start thinking, Arlert."
"I do-"
"Yes. Now think deeply. Control deeply. Stop manipulating everyone into thinking you have everything pinned down." She smirked. His lips parted and let out a breath he was unaware that he was holding as his blue orbs were shaking slightly. His vision blurred as she just stayed in focus.
"And quit daydreaming."
She laughed as he jerked back and tapped his fingers against his thigh, looking away and rubbing the back of his neck. "Quit getting beat at the smallest words! Let me do it for you." Her hands softly pressed on his thigh and ghosted upwards ever so slightly as she winked. Playfully riding off on her horse.
He gasped and reached out only for her to be way ahead. "I- I-" he grunts, "This is exactly what I mean!" He pounded his hand into his thigh still feeling the heat on the spot she touched.
He grinned lightly, "See you at headquarters."
Shitpost.
