"No, no way."

"It would be perfect! Seriously, Cruella, you really need to hear me ou-"

"I'm not proposing to her at a Tottenham match, imbecile!"

I threw myself onto my bed as a sign of defeat. I'm not quite sure why I even bothered to ask for their help.

The idea of marrying Y/N always surrounded my head, even when we were just foolish teenagers robbing the streets of London. I can't reckon up how many times I have sketched wedding dresses for the two of us. There wasn't a day I didn't plan to rob a jewelry store just to have some rings. I wanted it all. I wanted her.

My desire to make her my wife as soon as possible was not as big as my wish to give her the best, though. I didn't want her to wear stolen rings nor wedding dresses made out of cheap fabric. Y/N has been by my side for as long as I can remember. Our love is the only constant in my trajectory that still brings me joy. She is the sense of home I desperately looked for inside my heart. She is deserving of nothing but the finest, most incredible things in life.

However, such high standards were making me go insane. Years have passed, my bank account is bigger, and I can now give Y/N whatever she desires: beautiful dresses, expensive rings, extravagant parties, fancy flowers. Yet, somehow, nothing seemed to be good enough. I could barely come up with a nice proposal.

Jasper and Horace being two brainless idiots wasn't helping me either.

"What about a teddy bear?" Jasper spoke from across the room, sitting on the couch right next to Horace. "You can put the ring inside."

"Ew." I rolled my eyes. "This sounds like middle school."

"Beach date?" He continued.

I stood up and sat on the bed just to look at him. "It's February, dumbass. Why would we go the beach in the middle of the winter?"

"Fancy restaurantt?"

"Too cliché."

"Bake her a cake!" Jasper yelled excitedly.  "You can write down the question on the top."

"We never baked a cake. Ever."  I replied angrily. "We would steal them for our birthdays, remember?"

"Yeah, you're right." He scratched his head. "Poor Judy."

"Ugh!" I shouted. "Why is this so hard?"

Horace got up from the couch suddenly. "I have an idea!"

"Spill it!" Jasper and I said together.

"You and Y/N love Elvis Presley, right?" He asked. "Isn't Love Me Tender your favorite love song?"

"Yes, it is indeed. What about it?"

"You're wicked famous, you have all the money in the world now." He continued speaking with an exciting tone. "Why don't you hire Elvis for a private performance? You can propose to Y/N while he sings!"

Jasper looked at me while holding his laugh. I could almost feel smoke coming out of my ears. He can't be serious.

"Oh my God, Horace, you're a genius!" I said while sarcastically batting my eyelashes. He smiled. "That would be perfect. We just need to find the cemetery."

He frowned his eyebrows. "Cemetery? Why?"

"Because Elvis Presley is dead, imbecile!"

Jasper burst out in laughter as I just cursed under my breath, frustration written all over my face.

Isn't marriage supposed to be natural, loving? This is only the first step and I am about to punch a wall. No revenge plan could compare to how hard it has been to propose to the love of my life. I could defeat the Baroness three more times, and I still would not be able to ask for Y/N's hand.

"Why don't you practice a little, mate?" Jasper asked calmly, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Face the door, kneel down, pretend she's right in front of you. Perhaps you might get inspiration."

It seemed useless, but I was desperate.

"Here goes nothing."

I pulled the ring out of my jacket pocket. My left knee touched the floor, I faced my open bedroom door. I closed my eyes as the words just came out of my mouth like a river:

"I have never thought I would ever kneel down to someone, but I believe this is necessary, right?" I chuckled. "I guess this just proves how much you mean to me."

A single tear fell down my eyes.

"Proposing is hard, but loving you is so easy." I couldn't fight the small smile on my face. "You're like the sun bathing my skin, your love is the purest form of true happiness. You're the definition of comfort. The thought of waking up with you every single day opposes every particle of evilness that rests inside my soul. I love you."

I could hear Horace sniffing softly behind me.

"Therefore, darling, I must ask." I cleared my throat. "Will you marry me?"

"Yes! A million times yes!"

My eyes opened wide as soon as those words filled my ears. Somehow, she was right there in front of me. Countless tears were rolling down her cheeks like waterfalls. The grocery store bags she brought along with her were now on the floor, and Y/N attacked me with her warm embrace. I was too shocked to react.

"T-this was supposed to be a rehearsal, y-you shouldn't be here! You were in the supermarket!" I said desperately. My voice was muffled by her hug. "My bedroom is not romantic at all!"

"I don't care about these fancy, romantic cliches, my dear. You know that!" She said between chuckles, and tears were still washing her face. "Our love is the only thing that matters to me. This is perfect."

She held me even stronger and we ended up on the floor, her body on top of mine. My brain could not wrap around what had just happened, but at this point, I didn't care.

Her voice saying 'yes' played in my mind like a broken record, and our happines echoed the room as we laughed together. She kissed every part of my face as Jasper and Horace sang Love Me Tender at the top of their lungs. Not even the cloudy weather outside my window was capable of fogging the overwhelming joy filling my soul.

"You'll be mine forever, Mrs. De Vil."
