I get up off of the cold, white tiled floor. I look around and I see and hear nothing. No, wait, I do hear something. I hear someone calling my name repeatedly. I know this voice but I can't put a name or face to it. I get up and jog towards the voice, halfway there I start picking up my pace, because I have found a name and a face to that voice.

It's Jason.

I run towards his voice, pleading inwardly that he's not hurt. Eventually, I tire and collapse, a sudden, sharp pain stabs my back. I gather all my strength and turn around. I finally see him, he stands a few feet away from me with his back turned to me, saying my name over and over again worriedly.

Just as I'm about to reassure my safety with my voice, I notice a black silhouette standing a few yards away from him, holding a shiny, silver gun. I try to get up but there's a strange force holding me to the ground, so I resort to calling his name out. He turns around, and brightens up just by the sight of me.

He says my name in his sweet, calm, reassuring voice and takes a step towards me. But no more than just a step, because the bullet drills its way into his head, stopping him in his tracks.

And that's when I really wake up.

My eyes flew open and I stared at my white ceiling. Wait, when was my ceiling white? Oh, yeah, I'm at the hospital. My hands searched hungrily for the bed adjuster button. I located it and kept pushing it. I closed my eyes and found the perfect position. When I opened my eyes, I saw Jason laying his head down on my lap. Why didn't I notice his weight? I'm thinking of possible answers until I hear him muttering something unintelligible.

I leaned down and my ear to his mouth. His warm breath tickles my ear as he softly mutters, "Asami. Don't die out on me."

Hearing that made me jerk back, painfully hurting my back. I unvoluntarily yelped out a scream of pain, startling Jason from his peaceful slumber.

"Asami! You're awake! Are you okay?!" He asked worriedly.

"Nope. I'm o-okay." I managed to make out, trying to hide my blush.

"Yeah, that's what you said before too. But nevertheless," he stopped with a dramatic pause, "I'm so glad you're alive!" and lunged to hug me.

"Hey, hey! That hurts!" I warned lightheartedly while returning the hug.

"Don't ever die for me, okay?" He said.

I scoffed, "What do you mean? You have to live to find your first love."

"Well, so do you!" He said, pulling away to face me.

"Touche." I admitted with a breathy laugh. There was a few minutes of silence as we both thought of what to say.

I broke the silence by saying, " Hey Jason," He looked up from counting the tiles on the floor, "Can you, ya know, umm..." I tried saying nervously, "Can you tell me about your first love?" I finally managed to make out.

He looked suprised for a few seconds, "Sure, but on a condition that you have to tell me about your first love."

"Deal!" I eagerly agreed.

"Well, I first met-" He began, but the sudden sound of the door slamming open cut him off, making a grand entrance for a scowling Shane with Mai in tow.

"Hi! Asami! How are you doing? Obviously well since it looks like your getting it on with Jason. Was this a bad time?" Mai rambled.

I didn't get what she ment at first, but I understood when I turned at looked at Jason, I . His elbows were propped up against the bed and his face only an inch away from mine. My position wasn't any better either, despite my aching back, I'm leaned right into his face. We held eye contact for a few seconds before Shane ever so loudly cleared his throat, at that sound, we jerked back onto our seat. I gasped from the excruciating pain, but made no visible noises. I side glanced at Jason and there was an unmistakable blush on his cheeks. I must be blushig too.

I turn my attention to a mischevious looking Mai and (a jealous? No, mad? I don't know, let's just say 'a weird expressioned') Shane. Just by looking at them, I come up with the perfect comeback. "Yes I am doing pretty well, thanks for asking. What about you and Shane? Being that close, I bet you guys are getting it 'on' too."

Mai quickly glanced at Shane, blushed, and side stepped until there was a 2 yard gap between them. Jason and I burst out laughing and high fived each other, while Shane just death glared Jason. Then he turned away from Jason and caught my eye scowling with a blush peppered on his cheeks. I flashed him my innocent looking smile.

Before anyone could say anything else, Officer Elijah came in. Thank god too, there has to be someone to add sanity to these conversations. "Detective Azuma! How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling fine thanks." I replied, with that, I suddenly remembered the case, "Btw, what happened? I heard Jason before I passed out."

"Yes. Here's what happened. After you got shot, I snuck in and saw Declan putting the gun to Detective Minami's head, I shot the gun out of Declan's hand and quickly untied Detective Minami from the chair. That's when you passed out. We looked around and found Mr. Anders in a closet knocked out. We sent him with you to the hospital to get him checked out and we've been questioning Declan." He explained.

"At least the criminal's been caught." I sighed in relief.

"Yes, it was all thanks to you Detective Azuma." He cheered happily.

"Please, call me Asami. I consider you a very close friend after you saved my both of my best friends' lives." I said, gesturing to Jason and Shane who were currently death glaring each other.

"It would be an honor to. Although it was nothing much to save Detective Minami and Mr. Anders's lives." He humbly said.

"What? Are you kidding?! You have my eternal gratitude! Also you have every right to call me by my first name." Jason said.

"I totally agree. The name's Shane." Shane agreed.

"Thank you, it's an amazing-" Officer Elijah said, his phone abruptly cutting him off.

He excused himself and went out. Just as the door shut, I glowered at Shane and Jason.

"What?" They both said in unison.

"What do you mean what? What's up with you two?" I asked, "Why are you guys still fighting?!"

"What? We aren't fighting." Shane objected.

"Oh, yeah, sorry, and I didn't get shot." I stated sarcastically.

"I think that we both deserve an explanation." Mai urged along with me.

Shane looked at Jason with his cheeks painted a deep red. In reply, Jason raised his eyebrows as if asking him wordlessly if he's gonna spill or not. Shane turned away with a snort and locked eyes with me. I gave a look indicating to continue, but he turned away quickly.

We all ended up in an awkward silence, with Jason and Shane glaring at each other, Mai observing them, probaly half believing them. I rested against the bed and stared at them suspiciously.

Suddenly, Officer Elijah barged in, "Asami, Jason! Declan Mason isn't our guy!"

"What?!"
