"Okay, we highly suspect that the professional criminal, Declan Mason, is the one behind the calls. Police Headquarters tracked down his number and information. He is definitely at this convention." I said to the serious looking Jason.
"Okay, but why would he leave his number for us to track him down?" Jason asked curiously.
"I don't know, but trust me, I have a feeling this isn't the end." I vaguely stated.
"Okay then, what's our plan?" He asked.
"I called for back up, so they should be here soon. They should also be bringing an extra gun for you. I'll get the one in my car. But, I am seriously clueless about how to do this. I don't want Shane to die." I said sadly.
We were in a sad silence for a while. I turned around to face him, hoping to see what he was feeling. But instead, I only saw his profile face. The lights added a dramatic effect to his face. It looked so dejà vou-ish. I suddenly snapped out of the trance that I was in and got back to the case at hand.
"Okay, now look, this is what I-"
"Asami, I personally do not think Shane as a friend anymore," He said, effectively cutting me off. He turned around to face me and continued. "But, I see that Shane still means very much to you so I'll help you."
I was startled by his sudden confession. I stared at him wide eyed and felt my face turning into that smart-ass smirk Conan makes. "Thanks. Now, let's go infiltrate the back stage." I said as I started running. I realized he wasn't following so I went over and pushed him to get him to start running. He fell with a large thud. Hey, he's being dramatic now, I didn't push him that hard.
As he pulled himself together, I noticed that he was staring at the same spot before I pushed him. I connected the dots and realized that he was staring at the back stage door. I squinted and focused at the sight before my eyes.
Shane was being knocked out and was picked up by a brown eyed person with black hair and thick eyebrows. "Jason! Jason! We gotta help him, Jason! That's him! It's him! It's Declan Mason!" I yelled out before rushing over to them.
"Asami! Wait!" Jason called out. Realizing that he couldn't stop me, he started running after me.
He finally caught up to me and roughly grabbed my hand. "Stop it Jason! I need to go save him!" I screamed out as I tried to let go of his tight grip.
"Hey! Hey! Calm down Asami! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!" He shouted out, pulling me closer to him. "Look, if we just strut inside we'll surely be killed! Not only will you be killed, but so will Shane! So calm down!"
"O-okay, " I said. I wriggled my hand out of his grasp, using it as an excuse to push back from our close vicinity. "Now, what's our plan?"
"Good! That's the spirit! What was that password he told you?"
"29864." I replied adamantly.
"How did yo-"
"It's the number code for Ayumi. 2 for A. 9 is Y. 8, U. 64 is MI." I said, feeling pretty rude for cutting him off.
"He's a really good criminal, but how did he know you were cosplaying as Ayumi? And if it's cause he knows that you're an officer, that makes sense. But why ask for me?" He pointed out curiously.
"That's true." I agreed, "Unless someone he has someone telling him information." I thought for a while and widened my eyes. I turned to look at Jason and he gave me a look that I couldn't comprehend, but I knew that he was thinking the same thing. "No, no no! It can't be him! He got kidnapped! He's the victim!"
