*One Week Later*
Layla POV.
It has taken us about a week to get completely unpacked and begin to settle in. This town isn't the most exciting place in the world. There just doesn't seem to have much to do but I guess that is just something I'll have to get used to. Our new house is a lot bigger than our last. This doesn't mean I like it any more. I've been trying to stay as optimisitic as possible and treat this move as a 'fresh start'. The only thing about this fresh start is that someone from my past is living in this same town. I guess that slightly defeats the purpose of a fresh start. On the other hand, I have gone one week without seeing him nor have I seen Johnson. But I will put emphasis on the 'one week' part. This doesn't make me immune to never seeing him around, although I wish it would.
Alas, let's not dwell on hypertheticals.
I look at the time on my laptop and it reads '11:37pm'.
That means it's about 9:37pm in Cali.
I log into facebook and see I have a message waiting for me. It's my group conversation withe Ivy, Marley, Alex and Emily.
They were again just asking how I was going, how are we settling in and of course if there was any news on Jack. I answer all their questions and we catch up on our daily gossip or anything else interesting that has been going on while we've been seperated. After a good hour of non-stop typing I decide to call it a night and tell them we'll talk again tomorrow.
I turn my laptop off and slowly drift off to sleep, not particularly excited for any of the days to come.

When I wake up the next morning I decided I should do something productive with my day so I got in the shower and planned to go out and buy things to complete my bedroom. Once I was ready and leaving the bathroom, I hear voices downstairs. It was obviously mum and Mike but there were others. I heard one new voice. Definitely a woman, maybe a similar age to my mum. Then another new voice, then another. They both were guys and sounded more like my age. Who were these people and why were they in my house?
I contemplated staying upstairs as I wasn't really in the mood to meet anyone new but my bloody curiosity got the better of me and before I knew it by body was walking down the stairs.
When I got to the bottom of the stairs I turned left to the kitchen where the voices were coming from to reveal a lady around my mums age and two boys around my age, just like I suspected. They all stopped talking for a second and looked at me which is exactly what I didn't want to happen but I guess it was unavoidable.
"Ah! There you are. This is our daughter Layla." my mum tells this new faces.
The woman begins to speak.
"Hi hun, I'm Lori. These are my sons Sam and Nate. We live next door."
Both boys extend their hands. I take Sam's first then Nate's.
"Hey I'm Sam."
"Hey. Just call me Skate."
"I don't know why you just won't go by your actual name." Lori rolled her eyes and we laughed
"Nice to meet you guys." I smiled widely.
"We were thinking maybe the guys could take you out today. Show you around so you can get a feel for the place and so you have more of an idea of where you're going." Mike told me.
Do I have to?
"Ohk. Sounds good." I say with a forced smile.
"Ohk cool, why don't we get going then. Are you ready to go?" Skate asked me.
