The electric shock rattled Pete. "God, she is amazing," he thought. As he was about to take a step toward her, she gasped out "excuse me, I need the restroom." As she bolted for the door, he saw a tear fall. What in the world? He glanced around to see if anyone else noticed but everyone was absorbed in the food. "Should I follow and see what's going on? What do I do here," he thought. Taking another glance around the room, he made a decision. Setting down his plate, he strolled out of the room, hoping no one noticed his absence. Just as Pete got to the threshold, he heard Gabe start to say something to him but he acted as if he didn't hear and left. He sped up to put distance between them in case Gabe tried to follow. Nodding to people as he passed, he tried to remember where the ladies restroom was located. When he got to the door, he froze with his hand on the handle. "I can't go in there, what am I doing?," He took a step back and thought hard. He decided to sit outside and wait for Aurora to come out. Pete sat down where he could crack the door open and hopefully hear her coming.

What Pete heard caused his heart to shatter further. She was sobbing and trying desperately to calm down. He immediately jumped to his feet and was about to fully open the door when he stopped. "I don't really know anything about her. Who am I to run in there right now? I can't help her, can I?" He thought frantically. As he stood there, wrestling with his indecision, he heard her start talking to herself. He leaned closer to the door to listen.
