I was awoken by the sound of a ring coming from my phone. I peer out the dark window, my vision blurry. It's still dark outside. I see yellow street lamps through the trees lighting up the neighboring street. I pick my phone up and the bright wallpaper shines in my eyes. I can just barely keep them open.2:26 AM

Sock <3
Hey
A smile appears on my face and I unlock my phone. Why is he texting me now? I mean, I don't mind. I would talk to him any day at any time.
History: What's up?
Sock <3: Nothing much
Sock <3:kinda in the mood to do something mischievous ;)
History: Hmm
History: Like what?
Sock <3: Wanna sneak out and meet up somewhere?
History: Um
Sock <3: Meet me at Simon's Park at 2:45. Bring matches
History: Oh uh okay
That was sudden. I quietly lifted myself off my bed and pulled on a hoodie and black Nike shorts. I grabbed a small maroon drawstring bag and put a box of matches, a half-eaten bag of candy, and threw them into it. I wonder what he wanted to do with the matches. I tiptoed down the steps, trying not to make too much noise. I remember the steps that creak and the ones that don't. I remember where to step. It's like I've done this before, but I never have. Instead of going through the door, I opened a window and hopped out of it onto the wet grass, the dew soaking through my shoes. I walk into the open shed and slowly pull my bike out. It's surprisingly warm outside for a night in February. I hop on and start pedaling through the dimly lit street.
Turning the corner into the park, I see Sock leaning against the streetlamp, his golden hair lustering in the light. An empty feeling suddenly appears in my stomach. What if someone finds us? Like the police or a kidnapper? I tried to push those thoughts away and hopped off my bike.
"Fancy meeting you here," Sock quietly said.
"Hey, Sock. Are we staying here or going somewhere else?" I asked. I'm pretty sure there are cameras here, so I wouldn't want the police to find us wandering around this late.
"I was thinking of going to a place called 'Area 51'. The only reason people call it that is because there is a sign that has a big '51' on it." The moonlight was shining bright. I bet it was shining there too. My curiosity lingered. Why do we need matches? Why does he want to specifically go there? He picks up his bike and starts pedaling towards area 51. I've never been there, but people have told me that it's pretty there.
The cool wind was pushing against my face. I feel like I'm being watched. What if someone calls the police on us? Sock turns a sharp corner and disappears behind bushes, and I follow. A small road takes us to a dirt path into the woods. We both hop off our bikes and walk towards the moonlit water. It really was beautiful.
"There's a small island in the middle of the stream. You just have to jump a couple of feet, but it's not too bad, you have long legs anyway." Sock grabbed my hand and we were running along the bank of the stream. Our feet slapping the dirt along with the sound of the quiet water made me feel like I was in a movie. We came to a ledge about 2 to 3 feet from the water. A small island was in the middle with moonlight shining on it. Sock hopped down, his backpack shaking on his back as he landed. I jumped down, my heel almost touching the water. "I got these lanterns for us. I thought it would be a good idea to give one to you now." Sock handed me a small, white, lantern with star-shaped holes at the top for light to come through. There was glass protecting the fire from the wind, and us from the fire. there was a small candle in the middle waiting to be lit. I took out my box of matches and took a match out. I set it on the side of the box and slid it across, a fire immediately sparking up. I lit our lanterns up and set them on the ground. There were small stars made of light shining on the ground. We both sat down, and Sock let out a sigh. "Can I tell you something?"
Note from the author: Helloooo. This is short and kinda bad, I'm not good at writing sarcastic stories so yeah lol. but I hope you enjoyed it.
