Chapter 13

The next day, they talked.

It was just 3 am in the morning. Jisung is on the sofa and he's still awake.

"You didn't sleep?" Chenle asked. His head is spinning around because of head ache. He have hang over.

"I just have a nap. The sofa was not that comfortable." Jisung answered.

Chenle massage his head before he speak again.

"You should have just sleep beside me then."

Chenle was shocked when Jisung immediately stood up and walks toward his bed. He sit there, beside him, almost hovering him.

"W-What are you doing?" He nervously asked.

"Didn't you just gave me a permission to sleep beside you?"

Chenle blink. He's unbelievable.

He stares at his eyes for a couple of minutes before he remembered their conversation last night. He was drunk and his head is aching because of hang over, but he can still recall almost all of their conversation before he fell asleep.

"I'm already sober now. Can we talk about what's your problem with me?" Chenle bring up the topic. "Why are you ignoring me? What did I do wrong with you?"

Jisung became silent for a minute. He's being hesitant at first, but he sighed and told him about the real reason why he keeps distant with him. Just like what he promised.

"I don't know if you can still remember it, but I know if you do, you'll be mad at me.." He started.

Chenle was confused.

"I'll be mad at you? Then why you are the one who's acting mad and ignoring me these past few weeks? I don't get it." The older admitted.

Jisung closed his eyes tightly and shook his head.

"I.. I almost killed a kid before, Chenle-yah.. I told him to jump on the bridge for us to be friends.. I didn't mean to be that rude for someone who just want to befriend me but.. he jumped. He literally jumped and I get scared. I was just kidding. I didn't know that he will really do what I said. I just want him to stop bothering me.."

Chenle's eyes widened as a memory flash on his mind and he was dumbfounded.

His mouth hang open and blink.

"I'm sorry Chenle.. I didn't mean to do that to you. I was just a lonely kid before.. I swear, it's not my intention to kill you, god! I almost killed you! I-I'm sorry.. I don't know how to face you after I found out that the kid was you. And the fact that you just confessed to me and we are close friends.. Fuk I'm just so stupid so I tried to run away once again."

Chenle can't believe it. He did remember what exactly happened that time, and he don't know that it's Jisung. It's fcking Park Jisung.

Chenle stares at Jisung who's already tearing up and gently held his hands to squeeze it. Then he smiled.

"So it's you." He said.

Jisung closed his eyes and look down to hide his face. He's so sorry.

"It's you.. It's really you. You are the one who save me that time" Chenle added.

Jisung looks up with a confused face. He can't get what Chenle just said.

"I.. saved you?" When?

All he can remember is instead of accepting the friendship that the kid was offering him, he told him to jump on the bridge that almost caused him dead. Chenle should be mad at him but why is he thanking him now?

"My eyes were blurry that time from crying. Because my puppy died..

I keep on telling myself before that he's still alive and he's just missing. So I keep on searching for him with my blurry eyes. I almost got hit by a car, but a kid stop me. He shouted at me and scolded me because I'm not looking at the sign on the street. He scold me for walking with my tears falling like a broken faucet. But instead of being mad at him because of scolding me, I became thankful. If I got hit by a car that time, who knows if I'm still here? Maybe I'm still alive but I can't walk? I lost my one arm?.. I'm so thankful for you that time. That's why when I saw you again on the street near the bridge, I became eager to befriend you.." Chenle explained.

The younger got frozen from his seat. He keeps on repeating on his mind what Chenle just said.

"I.. I don't know that it was the same kid that I save at the street that time.. I don't know that it's you.." He answered in disbelief.

Chenle held his hand tighter and smiled once again.

"It's both me, Jisung. And you got wrong when you think that I jumped on the bridge because you told me to do it."

"Then why did you fall?"

Chenle chuckled as a funny yet stupid memory came into him.

"Because I saw a puppy got stocked on the water. I remembered my own puppy that's why I jumped to save it. I never thought that the water was that deep. Thankfully, the owner of the puppy saw us and helped me.. I immediately search for you to boast that I just save a puppy, that maybe you will finally want to be my friend because I save it. But I can't find you. You were gone, and now you're infront of me again."

Jisung immediately engulf Chenle with a tight hug when he heard what actually happened, and his tears fell, even he let out a soft chuckle.

"Stupid. Why did you jump on that bridge just to save a puppy?" he asked.

"You're stupid as well. You immediately leave and didn't accept my offer being friends."

Jisung looks at him and he smiled.

"You can ask it again if you want."

Chenle's eyes sparkle with the idea and he sat straight to look at Jisung's beautiful orbs.

"Then, can you be my more than friends, Jisung Park?"

Jisung laugh and look at him teasingly.

"I can be your friend without more than, Chenle-yah.." then he pause, probably giving it a think.

"Well, I'll still think about it.."

Chenle smack his shoulder and throw himself to the younger to hug him once again.

Jisung chuckled once more and hug the older back.

"By the way Chenle.."

"hmm?"

"I lied. I honestly did broke the promise.. I still brought our memories here from Shanghai.." He confessed.

Chenle became silent for the mean time, but after a minute, he softly answered.

"Me too."
