Hadley POV

I woke up at around 9:30 to my parents moving everything around. They could not just let me sleep a little later. I got ready for the day because I was obviously not going back to sleep. I put on some black athletic shorts and an old t-shirt and went downstairs for some breakfast.

"Good morning honey." "Mornin mom," I replied. She put a bowl of cereal in front of means I dug right in.

"I was thinking I could take you and your brothers out shopping for some new school clothes later today," my mom said.

"Yah okay." I didn't really need anymore clothes but my mom loved doing stuff with us so we just went with it. "Do you want me to wake the boys up or let them sleep?" I asked her.

"Go be creative," she said back.

I walked upstairs and decided an airhorn would be the best way for them to wake up. I walked into Cooper's room and prepared for my punishment...

EEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

"Son of a....HADLEY!" I started running. Luckily I made it to my room in time so I wouldn't die and I could hear Hunter start to come to his senses.

"Why are you guys up so ear...*yawn*...ly?"

"Mom's taking us shopping later so get your lazy butts ready." They went back into their rooms to get ready and I finished unpacking one of my boxes. It was all of my pictures. I put up all of the pictures of me with famous athletes all over my walls and my old volleyball and basketball team pics on my desk cork board. My room was finally starting to come together.

I still have two hours before we leave so I'm going to for a run around the neighbourhood. I put on my tennis shoes, grabbed my earbuds and walked downstairs. "Mom I'm going on a run." I yelled. "Okay! Don't get lost!" She yelled back. With my luck I will. I went out the door and started on my run.

I've been running for only 20 minutes and I'm already pretty tired so I decide to head home.
"Shit," I cursed under my breath. I'm lost. I see a sign for a park so I run there to recollect my thoughts and figure out how to get home. I see a boy my age shooting hoops and I walk over to him.

"Do you know where 87th Court is?" I ask him hoping he does.

"Yeah, are you lost?" He asks me while turning around.

Damn he's hot. "Um kinda...I just moved here yesterday and I have no idea where I am."

He smiled. "It's okay. I'm done so I'll walk you home, I live on that street too."

"Okay, thanks." I think u may be blushing right now. "So what's your name?" I asked him.

"Hayes. What about you?"

"I'm Hadley."

"Cool name."

"Thanks." We walked in silence for a couple of minutes before I remembered something. "Is your last name Grier?"

"Uh ya why?" He said back confused.

"I think my parents are scouting you this semester for football. You're on their list."

"Really? I have scouts looking at me?" He was really surprised.

"Yep. I've watched you play on recordings sometimes. You're pretty good. You're one of the reasons we moved out here, so congrats."

"Thanks, that means a lot." He seemed proud of himself then.

"Anytime." We were nearing our houses then so it was time to part ways. "Well, I'll see you around hotshot," I said to him.

He laughed and said, "Thanks Hadley. Let me get your number and I can show you around sometime."

"Yah sounds good." I put my number in his phone and went inside. "Hi mom!"

"Hi honey, how was your run?" She asked me.

"It was good. I got lost but the neighbour boy walked me home." I smiled remembering it.

"Oh good. You've met him. I talked with his mom while you were gone and we are going out for dinner tonight with their family so go get showered and we can go shopping with your brothers."

"Okay." and I went upstairs to shower.

**********

We arrived at the Moorseville Mall a couple of hours ago and I was already shopped out. I don't enjoy it as much as other teenage girls. I got a couple of new shirts and some shorts for the upcoming school year. I also bought a blue sundress for dinner tonight. My mom and I met my brothers at the food court and we were on our way home.

When I got home I put all of my new clothes away and looked at the clock. We were going to dinner at 6:30 so I had three hours to kill. I decided to FaceTimed Piper. She answered almost immediately.

"Hey girl!" She said.

"What's up chica?"

"Boring since you left," she groaned.

"Well sorry. Guessing life sucks without me." I said and laughed.

"You're right about that. So what did you do today?" She asked me.

"I went for a run, got lost, and my hot neighbour walked me home." I smirked.

"Lucky. The only guy I saw today was Mr. White mow his lawn...shirtless." and she fake gagged a little.

I laughed. "Always good watching old people half-naked."

She half-smiled. "I miss you so much. Move back to Boston please!"

"I don't control it Pipes or I would." I hear her mom yelling at her in the background.

"I gotta go Had. My mom burnt her quesadilla."

"Your mom isn't the best cook in the world is she?"

"Obviously not. See ya, miss ya, bye!"

"Bye Piper."
