Chapter Five
So I learned that the girl's name (Who said I should stay away from Luke) was Beatrice. And I'm glad that she's not the captain of the cheerleaders because that'd be so typical. And I don't like typical, I like different with unrealistic shit in it, like Luke suddenly banging me against the locker even though he was supposed to "make me suffer".
Now, Beatrice was like the most annoying girl I've ever met so far. I don't even know why, I just happened to hate her.
I was pushing through the crowd of people in the cafeteria and looked around for any sign of Jenna or Al but instead all I see was Beatrice waving at me and motioning for me to sit with her. I raised my eyebrows in confusion, wondering why would she want me to sit with her when not just an hour ago she told me not to fuck with Luke. Fortunately then, I found Jenna, chewing on her salad while talking to some girls.
I sent Beatrice an eye roll before going to Jenna who happened to have her other friends with her. Just like I expect, I'm really into making friends today. Note the sarcasm.
Jenna didn't notice me at first, she was too busy chatting with her friends about who-knows-what. It was until, I placed my tray on the table and sitting down at the end of the table because the other seat was occupied. They all sent me a little smile but I made no efforts in returning them.
"Girls, this is Lenox." Jenna introduced.
"Hi, Lenox" Jenna's friends said before going back to the conversation the had, not even bothering to introduce themselves to me but then again, I was not in the mood to make friends today.
I took a bite of the sandwhich I bought and almost throwing up at how terrible it tastes. When I looked what was inside, it's an egg sandwhich. I gagged, putting the sandwhich away from me.
"Shit, the food here is terrible" I grimaced.
Jenna and her friends looked at me with a surprised mixed with disbelief look on their face. What did I just do?
"Oh my god," Jenna said, "Girl you did not just say that"
"You did not just curse" Jenna's friend with frizzy brown hair said, her mouth wide opened in shock.
"You can't curse here!" Another Jenna's friend with straight ombre hair said, raising her voice a little.
"Shit, sorry what was that? I can't fucking hear you" I said sarcastically, inching my ear closer to her.
Then they all gasped, "She did not!"
"I just did" I smirked. "I mean, what's the big deal? Just say the words. Fuck, shit, motherfucker"
Before I knew it, I was kicked out from the table and here I was walking down the hallway. I didn't know they were five-year-olds who can't bear bad words.
"What happened to you? Got kicked out from your clique?" I heard a chuckled behind me. It didn't take long for me to recognised who it was.
"Luke!" I cheered, turning around to see Luke, looking amused "What's up, man?"
His amused looked changed to a questioning look, "Wait, when the hell did I became your man?"
"Like, two seconds ago, I guess" I answered, shrugging.
He just stared at me.
"Anyway," I said, leaning against the locker (The real reason is because my knees are weak. I mean, Luke Hemmings just stared at me for no god damn reason!) "What's your plan on, I quote, making me suffer? You know, you looked like a dork who'd study for math and become a math genius because your mom is a math teacher but then again, you don't even know how many zeros in a million and that doesn't makes you like you're about to ruin lives"
Then, he just stared at me in disbelief. He looked insulted, "Excuse you?"
I shrugged.
"First, I am not a dork. And mind you, I'm already a math genius and I don't know how you know that my mom is a math teacher but you probably stalked me or some shit because who wouldn't? And last of all, I know exactly how many zeros in a million, it's seven" He said, looking proud of himself.
I burst out laughing, clapping my hands like a seal. That's the weird thing I always do when I laugh, I always had to hit something or clapping my hands.
"God, Hemmings. You are a dork" I said, before walking away from him, still laughing hysterically.
I was so sure I was away from him when he came shouting and running at me, "Wait! I already know how many zeros are in a million! I just googled it, look I googled it. It's six! Six zeros!"
I eventually stopped walking and turned my body to Luke who is holding his knees and panting hard, "You're right, one point for you."
He looked up at me, looking offended for the second time that day, "What? Just one point? Why not one hundred point? I said the right answer. Give me one hundred point!"
"Kay, one hundred point for you" I said with an emotionless tone as I stare at him blankly in the eyes before turning my heels and continue to walk.
"Wait!" Luke grabbed my wrist, turning me around, "Just like that? That simple?"
"I guess so"
"You can't just made me feel stupid for laughing at me saying there's seven zeros in a million and made me google it and tried to catch up with you and I was running, if I may add and you know I don't do sport so my legs are burning right now, I can't even bend my knees without having my knees feeling weak and then tell you the right answer to have you gave me one hundred point with no emotion what-so-ever in your face?" He complained, "I mean, at least be proud of me!"
With a fake enthusiasm, I forced a smile at him, "Congratulations for getting the answer right, one hundred points for you, Luke. I'm so fucking proud of you. Hearing that you know about math is just so magical to me, I feel like a proud mother."
He was about to opened his mouth and say something - probably something sarcastic- but was cut off by a loud moan coming from the classroom next to us.
"Oh my god, someone is having sex" Luke giggle, a little too excited. God fuck, he looked so adorable when giggling.
"Shh" I hiss, putting a finger on his mouth. I pulled him closer to the classroom and sure, someone was about to have sex. I might as well watch (hear) some free porn.
"I got an idea!" Luke whispered-shout, "Let's ruin the person's day by walking in on them having sex."
Before I could protested, his hand is already reaching for the doorknob and in a swift motion, he opened the door wide opened.
And maybe, opening the door was a bad idea after all.
