I wish I didn't have to be here.

I wish I didn't have to witness this.

I wish I didn't have to be apart of this.

I wish I didn't have to be powerless to this shitfest.

Sometimes in life, you do things you don't want to do, things you do cause you don't want to be a bummer, a killjoy, the odd one out. Things you do cause it's just you against a pack of horny, rowdy teenagers on hormone highs a.k.a. your classmates.

"So this year, we're having a valentine party as the senior class, so val dates would be chosen by drawing names out of a hat, more like a errm...draw?" Kelsey said amidst whoops and cheers from my classmates while all that was going through my mind was "I can't believe this shit, Kelsey's in on this, but she's class president, she can't be...they probably drugged her." That's the lame conclusion I came to when I really know this was her way of getting a val considering no one would ever ask her. Poor girl, she's not too...attractive (that's my way of putting it nicely, she's an ugly goody goody two shoes...no offence).

"The boys are going to be the ones to pick from a hat of girls." She paused "and since the boys are more than the girls, some girls are gonna have two vals." She said it like it was the most exciting thing in the world. She probably put her name twice. bitch.

"So the picking will be tomorrow." Her shrill voice made my head hurt and all I wanted to do was copy my notes in peace.

"You don't seem too excited about this." I had momentarily forgotten about my bestie who was seating beside me the whole time.

I glared at her, "of course not, now I can't copy my notes and it's due tomorrow." I almost screamed, pulling at my hair a little bit in frustration.

"But on the bright side-" I cut her off, "There's no bright side."

I plopped face down on the desk.

"You finally get a val." She went on like I had not interrupted in the first place.

"That's the point, now I can't reject whoever picks me."

"Just give up girl, you've been waiting for him to ask you out for years, you can't keep pining after him. Stop pushing other guys away and live a little, be the hormone driven teenager you're meant to be."

I wanted to pretend I didn't know who she was talking about but I did.

I scowled at her, it won't hurt to try to pretend right?

"What are you going on about, you're saying shit."

"Bish, you're blushing so it's pretty obvious you know exactly who I'm talking about." She rolled her eyes giving me a pointed look.

I ignored her look and focused back on my book.

"You might lie to everyone else but you can't lie to me, I know you have a major crush on Bruno." I cringed, and she noticed.

I looked up at her to see her smiling smugly before shifting her gaze to somewhere else, someone else.

Bruno Calhoun.

I sighed dreamily but not physically though, in my mind. I couldn't afford for Abigail to see me, It'll only add more fuel to the fire, the flames of her accusations.

I was drawn out of my thoughts by Abigail harshly 'nudging' me.
I winced and rub my assaulted ribs. I scowled at her but it quickly dropped to an embarrassed grin when I realised why she had almost pushed out my ribs.
