I thought I'd love you in shades
The kind we'd always seen together on flowers in the open field
The kind the brightest sunlight casts on silver clouds
To leave an enchanting afterglow when finally gone.And you, you'd love me like the sound of passing waters in a creek
Like the beautiful colours on a spring day, that leaves you smiling always
Even when you'd just had your worst day.So it still hurts as all those were just wishes that never came true
And it turns out I couldn't be the brightest shade in your quiet creek.
