That Strange Day (TDS Original Valentines Story)

1: The Substance

Umbra cackled to herself, watching the vibrant pink liquid swirl around and bubble within the cauldron.

Earlier, she had been working non-stop on a Valentine's day poison that would make anyone that was injected with it fall in love with her. It took her the entire month of January and half of February to get it right, along with going through multiple failures and explosions that nearly decimated the stronghold.

But this time, she was sure it would work. The pink substance stopped swirling and then settled, the surface of it now reflective enough to let her look at herself through it.

She allowed a sadistic grin to crawl across her face; this was the most genius plan she'd ever come up with.. Atleast to her. Once she applied this substance to the tip of her arrow, her plan would be set in motion.

"This will surely make me giggle.. Frost Spirit, of all titans, falling in love with such an elegant beauty like me~!" Umbra sing-sang, "Sinister will be so furious! Sinister..? More like, Furister!" She howls with laughter, taking her pink substance and running off with it.

The things she was about to do would be quite devastating, but also.. rather frivolous.

Frost Spirit and Lord Sinister had been invited to a Valentine's day party over at Umbra's stronghold.

Sinister had at first absolutely despised the idea of attending the party, but Frost Spirit insisted that they go to get out of their homes more, even though he would much prefer staying in the nest than going to one of Umbra's horrific festivities.

"Okay, I got our weapons just in case Umbra tries anything. Are we ready to go?" Sinister hauled both Frost Spirit's scythe and his own axe over his shoulders while he exited the cabin, glancing up at the aviary titan who was fixated on cleaning up the nest.

Frost Spirit threw out the last loose stick and then flew down. "Ready when you are, Sinister." He landed next to Sinister and smiled, to which Sinister responded with a grin, beginning to walk. Frost Spirit followed after him, the chains on his wings clinking softly as he moved.

The trip to the stronghold was a pretty long one, but it gave Sinister and Frost Spirit time to spend together. They talked about their children and where they could be right now. Jaxe, of course, was off serving Umbra or somewhere out in the woods with Swamp Monster and shooing away towers from the path to the stronghold.

The Frost Siblings Sledger, Frost Commander, Frost Minigunner, Frost Ranger and Frost Pyromancer were either in their tower camps getting their jobs done or fighting off enemies. The same went for Toxic Gunner; he was probably having to deal with a lot of suitors. The influence Jaxe had on him when it came to fashion must've kicked in.

Frost Spirit still felt very uneasy knowing they were all out there on their own, despite the fact that he had been reassured many times by Sinister that they could handle themselves.

"Sinister," Frost Spirit's voice was meek and retreating, already knowing what Sinister would reply with but still continuing to ask anyway, "do you think our children are all okay on their own? What if one of them is in trouble?"

Sinister scoffed at Frost Spirit's unnecessary concern. "I already told you a bunch of times, you bird brain. They're alright and you know it. You've seen them fight off our own units before." Frost Spirit scowled at the insult, raising a wing to slap him but decided not to. They still had to get to the stronghold first.

In the distance, they saw the Titan forest, and even farther, a hill with a stronghold that sat on top of it.

Frost Spirit and Sinister exchanged glances for a brief moment. Sinister growled, looking back at the stronghold, "Let's get this over with."
