chapter 1: to date or not to date?
YOOO!!! I changed the story a little !!!
-I eyed my reflection once more, quickly reapplying mascara to my bottom lashes.
My mini-break from those immature bastards who thought with their dicks was good while it lasted.
It's been 4 months since I've been out with someone, which is pretty reasonable in my opinion but jackie begs to differ. She seems to have convinced herself that the world revolved around dick and without it her life is pointless.
Ridiculous, indeed.
Grabbing a black hair tie, I sleeked my loosened curls up into a pony-tail. After zipping up my ankle boots I slipped on a champagne jacket, making my way to the kitchen.
My parents had just left two hours ago for their Twelve Year Anniversary date.
I still can't comprehend you manage to be with the same person for that long. I can't even stand to be around the same person for more than an hour, let alone, be with someone for 12 years.
Probably explains why most my relationships last 3 months.
I get bored easily.
I started the engine of my car as I backed out the garage. Jimmy's was a 15 minute drive from my house, so that was very convenient.
I'm suppose to meet someone there, call it a date if you shall. My dear friend Jackie thinks she's a damn matchmaker.
I honestly had nothing to do this afternoon so when she promised the idea of a date to me, I didn't disapprove.
She's been urging me "to get back out there". It's been about 6 months since my last, boyfriend. It wasn't anything major unlike many break ups tend to be, we simply broke things off because we weren't close as we used to be. That's as much drama that has hit my life recently.
Exciting, I know.
I'm not in a hurry to start a relationship. Being single was lavish.
You have the right to look at other people, without anyone getting jealous or mad.
I made a turn and entered the parking lot of Jimmy's Pizzaria, also known as the place Jackie goes to prowl on guys.
I breathed in the aroma of freshly made pizza and breadsticks.
The only thing I could get out of Jackie was the color of his hair and his name, Jesse. Other than that I knew that she previously used to work with him at Pacsun. Never been on a blind date but I guess there's a first for everything.
I looked around for a blonde. It didn't help that there's about a dozen of them swarming the room.
I decided to guess and go sit in the booth across a slim but toned blonde that had rimmed glasses.
Not really my type, well blondes in generally weren't my type. I'm more into dark or raven haired guys.
"Hey, I'm Stassie, or Stas for short." I sat down and smiled at him.
His eyes wandered at anything but me, he turned around and looked behind him.
"Ugh, hey..." I said again.
He turned around and pointed at himself, with a questioning look on his face.
I nodded, "Yep, I'm talking to you. Do you speak by any chance or are you mute?"
"Y-yeah, I-ii speak." He shook his head nervously.
"Are you Jesse?" I smiled at him in reassurance. Was this his first date? He looked like he could pass out in 2 seconds or maybe he's always had a sickly green tint to his face?
"Um, ugh, n-"
"You know Aaron?" I look up to meet at boy with brown short hair.
"Aaron?" I rose a brow at him.
"Yes," he nodded and glanced at the boy across from him, "the one in front of you, my boyfriend."
"What? I thought this was Jesse? Oh, are you guys on date, I- I didn't mean to interrupt." I quickly got up from the seat, giving him a apologetic look.
"Nah, it's totally cool. A cute blonde guy sitting alone by himself, it's easy to make a mistake." He winked at Aaron and received a flustered reaction.
Looking at both of them, I wouldn't have guessed either of them were attracted to guys. That's my own ignorance at fault.
"Blind date?"
"No..."
"I don't even know you but you are such a bad liar." He laughed.
"Fine. Yeah, blind date," I laughed with him, "how'd you know?"
"Well, you mistook my boyfriend as your date which clearly shows that you have no idea as to what this guy looks like."
"Haha, sorry about that."
"It's cool, I've been on a couple." He shrugged, "this ones, really shy," he pointed at the boy and chuckled.
"Am not!" Aaron managed to say back.
"Keep telling yourself that, babe."
Aaron rolled his eyes and took his phone out, ending their little banter.
His boyfriend turned to face me, "What was the name of the guy you are looking for?"
"Jesse." I chuckled back. They were a really cute couple. Seeing Aaron get flustered at the other boy's words was quite entertaining.
"What does he look like?"
"Well, to be honest I don't really know myself...he's a blonde. That's all I got." I smiled small.
"Oh, now I see how you mistook him for Aaron," he nodded, and pointed three booths ahead, "try that dude," he smiled and shrugged.
"Thanks," I smiled back, "and sorry again for confusing your boyfriend, you guys are cute."
"No problem and thanks. Good luck!" He playfully winked and sat down across his boyfriend, Aaron.
"Jesse, your order is ready." The girl at the counter spoke from the microphone, holding up a tall lemonade.
A tall blonde stood up from the booth, walking over to her.
He turned around and a smile grew on his face.
"Hey! Stassie, right?" He waved, walking over to me.
"Yeah, hi!" I waved back.
"Your much prettier in person, Jackie showed me pictures." He eyed me.
"Thanks," I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks, "I could say the same about you...well no not prett- I mean ugh..."
He chuckled, "Yeah I know what you meant."
"Let's go sit down."
I grabbed the seat across from him.
"Oh, sorry I already ordered and you were running late..I didn't know what to get you," he rubbed his neck, "now that I think of it's kind of a jerk move."
"No, don't worry it's okay. I'll be right back." I smiled, getting up from the booth.
Their was about 5 people already in line so I had to wait. By the time I got to the front of the line, the girl previously there was gone.
Me being impatient and all, I took out my phone and started playing 2048. I just wanted to order and go back to my hot date.
"Welcome to Jimmy's, where the pizza is fantastic. What would you like today?" A raspier voice asked me.
"Can I get a medium coke?"
"No, but you can totally get my number." I glanced away from the tiny screen, meeting a cheeky smirk.
