Aftermath (Short)

Gipsy Danger powered down, the middle nuclear turbine in the middle of the chest slowly came to a stop. Raleigh and Elizabeth detached from the drift, their harnesses lowering them as the neck chamber shut below them. Stepping out Raleigh removed his helmet taking in a breath of air. Elizabeth took off her helmet, running a hand through her hair. The realization of what they did had already set in, but they merely didn't care. Elizabeth had always wanted to show them that she was a better pilot than them. Looking to her Co-Pilot he saw him looking up at the right right corner of the con-pod. She raised her eyebrow in confusion but upon closer inspection she saw weld lines around what used to be an opening in the hull. 

She saw Raleigh demeanor change, he went from joyful to depressed in a few seconds. Walking over she placed a hand on his shoulder catching his attention. "You alright?" - She asked worried, Raleigh stared at her for a few seconds before looking back up at the repaired hull. "Yeah i'm fine, just.. trying to forget somethings that's all." - He answered, confused with his response Elizabeth stepped in front of him with a smile. "Well let's go ahead and get scolded by Nana for kicking those twos asses." - She laughed, Raleigh smirked at her reaction. Exiting the con-pod, they were met by Nana who held a disappointed look on her face. "Oh lord." - Raleigh muttered.

"Was all that really necessary?" - She asked with her arms crossed staring at the two. "You told us to fight them, we fought them." - Raleigh responded to her question. "I didn't mean destroy the Franxx. We're lucky you didn't do anymore damage to the suit or the pilots." - She sighed looking past them seeing Zorome and Miku being checked out by some medics. "And I believe you have some apologizing to do." "Like hell we do! We kicked their asses!" - Elizabeth shouted, catching the attention of multiple people who stared at them, Raleigh placed a hand on her shoulder. "Maybe we should, they are our teammates after all." 

Elizabeth looked at Raleigh in disbelief, those two treated her like crap her whole life. Just because every partner she had never stuck with her. "Like hell I am!" - She growled pushing past Nana stomping off in anger. Raleigh watched her walk off then looked at Nana. "I should go check on her." - He said, getting a nod from Nana almost immediately. Jogging past her, he chased after Elizabeth. Nana rubbed her temple, what was she going to do with those two?.. "Oi! Nana!" - Nana opened her eyes at the sound of her name, turning her head she saw Zorome and Miku walking over to her. "Who the hell and what the hell was that?! Why did you put us up against.. that thing!" - He yelled kicking the back of Gipsy's conpod in anger, but just as he kicked it a stray wire shocked him as if Gipsy had defended itself. Yelping in pain Zorome jumped back. "Seriously Nana, who is that? Another Parasite?" - Miku asked her, Nana sighed. "I believe you all deserve an explanation."

"Elizabeth, hold up." - Raleigh called out to Elizabeth who came to a stop, turning towards him. "What is it?" - She asked basically radiating anger. "You okay? What happened back there?" "I jus-" - She clenched her fists and sighed. "I don't want to talk about it." - She said looking away from Raleigh, she tensed up when a hand touched her shoulder. "Okay. But if you want to talk about it..." "I'll come to you, got it. Thanks Raleigh." - She smiled looking at him, Raleigh smiled back. Elizabeth turned on her heel walking off, leaving Raleigh by himself in the hallway. Meanwhile, Nana had gathered the rest of the pilots. They were rather confused and intrigued by the newcomer and what that large Franxx was.

"I believe I owe you all some answers." "Yeah you do Nana! ESPECIALLY WHAT THE HELL THAT LARGE FRAN- Ow!" - Miku elbowed a heated Zorome in the gut shutting him up, Nana sighed. "Well that Franxx has a name." "And what would that name be Nana?" - Ichigo asked, Nana typed a few things into her pad. The image of Gipsy Danger appearing on screen. "Gipsy Danger." "Thats the same Franxx that helped us three days ago? I thought it was destroyed?" - Goro asked. "We were able to repair it, but as we repaired it we discovered.. interesting data." - Nana said, confusing the teens. She typed again into her pad, and a holographic display came up with the symbol of the "PPDC - Pan Pacific Defense Corp." spinning as lines of code ran along the screen revealing the secrets of Gipsy. To her construction, her battles with the Kaiju, and her last stand against Knifehead where she lost one of her pilots. "As you can see Gipsy isn't a Franxx, it is one of many mechs called 'Jaegers'." - Nana explained, as half the screen changing to that of the Jaeger's blueprints.

The teens stared in awe and shock, Gipsy wasn't a Franxx but also wasn't a part of their world. Along with it's pilot. Nana switched the screen off, looking back at the group her eyes watching them for their reactions. Most of them were still in thought staring at the frozen picture of Gipsy locked in a battle with a Kaiju. Meanwhile in the back of the room 002 yawned, she shared no interest on the current subject. "So.. Raleigh isn't from our world?" "Is he an alien?!" - Futoshi blurted out shaking in his boots. Nana sighed and shook her head. "No he is not, he is human. But.. from another reality. Much different from ours." - This shocked everyone, even catching the attention of Zero Two. "We don't know much of his world, but all we know is what we saw from the perspective of Gipsy." - She pressed another button on her pad, the screen changing to that of a video of Gipsy's battle in Los Angeles. The video showed the broken buildings and the smoking skyline as Gipsy was hauled across the Californian mountains. 

The others were in awe at the green below Gipsy, they had never seen so much vegetation in one place. But the screech of a Kaiju inside LA drew them back towards the screen. A box popped up in the top left of the screen showing the pilots inside, Raleigh and his recently deceased brother. The video fast forwarded towards the battle, where Gipsy could be seen blocking attacks from the Kaiju code-named Yamarashi. "That thing is huge!" "It's bigger than any Klaxosaur that we've seen." - Goro commented, wincing as Gipsy took a heavy hit sending her back into a skyscraper. Yamarashi let out a screech as it brought it's right claw up bringing it down onto Gipsy, her large metal hand reaching up grabbing the claw stopping it from piercing the con pod. Yamarashi didn't let up on it's attacks, using it's other claw to stab Gipsy in her right side. Yancy, Raleighs brother, let out a yelp of pain. But a claw in Gipsy's side didn't stop her, she grabbed the claw embedded in her metal gut ripping it out. The Jaeger pushed the claw towards Yamarashi, the Kaiju trying to push back against it's metal enemy. But the metal monster pushed the Yamarashi onto it's scaly back.

Losing it's battle against Gipsy, as the Jaeger pushed the claw into the Kaiju's chest destroying it's heart. it's blue blood splattered onto Gipsy's body staining it's navy blue chest. The others sat in silence watching as Gipsy let go of the Kaiju's body letting it fall back onto the empty street, the screen shook as the titanic body hit the earth below. Emerging from down the street a similar Jaeger was covered in blue blood, but missing it's right arm. "There are more like Gipsy?" - Ichigo exclaimed in surprise watching the figure turn it's head towards Gipsy. All of a sudden the record shut off, the image being replaced by the PPDC symbol. "That was all that we were able to extract before it shut us out of it's systems." - Nana said turning the screen off, then turning her head towards them. She watched them for any other forms of a reaction, the others were in deep thought. Glancing at each other, Hiro rubbed the back of his neck still registering the information he had heard and watched. Raleigh wasn't of this world, and his Fran- Jaeger wasn't either. He glanced back at Zero Two who was standing in the back of the room watching the screen.

The same image replayed in her mind, the image of Gipsy stabbing the Kaiju's own claw into it's own chest. It... intrigued her. 

(This is just a small short until I can get back into a writing mood. This isn't as good as the old chapters, but i'll try as best I can to produce the next chapter in a higher quality)
