TW- fighting, [jam], u h slight hearing voices???
Spoilers of Cookies of Darkness Lore, Episode 5The halls echoed deafeningly with their silence.
The absence of his soft footsteps, the absence of his quiet voice beside him, in the few times they were free to talk to each other.
Now, the only sound was his own footsteps, his armor quietly clinking with his sword, his velvety cape dragging on the floor.
And the voices.
Oh, the voices. The mirages, the memories. His punishment, for his sins, his crimes, against himself and his only son.
His only son that was gone now. Forever.
Because of him.Just below his heart, he felt a familiar ache. It would never truly leave him, but he didn't truly mind the pain itself.
It was the memories it brought with it, haunting it, like the ghosts of his own consciousness swirling around him, clouding his vision.
~~~
"I didn't want this... FATHER!"
And within half a second, Dark Cacao Cookie found sliding back, barely keeping himself, the air knocked out of him from the sudden unexpected force. He gasped for breath and reached to pull out his sword.
And he did. His son charged forward again stepping out in one fluid movement, a ruthless, burning flame in his eyes. This wasn't him... it couldn't be!
Dark Choco moved slightly to the side, nearly getting a well-placed hit on Dark Cacao Cookie's shoulder.
Dark Cacao deflected his blows, spinning his sword. Metal grinded against metal. Sparks flew, hot and blinding against the frigid blades. The steel heated from their entangling, emanating a certain glow, emphasizing the toes and top half of the weapons. It made the faces of the two light up, shadows falling across them, under their eyes, encircling their hearts. Their swords clanged, reverberating through the room. And the hush closed in. Father and son, dueling in an eerie silence. It was unnerving, unnatural.
Dark Choco seemed a million times stronger than he was before. Back then, before this odd newfound strength in his son, he was powerful alright. But not to this extent. Dark Cacao trained him, trained him well, to defend, to fight. And Dark Choco learned beautifully. Yet Cacao could always defeat him within minutes at most, without dealing a single blow.
But this was different.
Dark Cacao Cookie could not bring himself to touch his only son with the frozen blade.
This isn't your son, he tried to convince himself. You need to take the offensive! You can't just block him forever!
And yet he couldn't do it.
He just couldn't, until it was all too late.
What felt like months passed, and neither of them showed the slightest waver, the weakest fatigue.
Yet Dark Cacao, inside, felt like he couldn't continue for much longer.
