"Oh maple syrup lord~!" America screamed at Canada, who was peacefully sleeping in his bed.

"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" New Zealand yelled too, both New Zealand and America huddled around Canada's bed.

"W-what?" Canada yawned, "what's going on?" Canada asked confused, rubbing his eyes awake. America got close to his face and smirked. Canada blushed at how close he was, Canada knew that smirk only meant trouble.

"We wanna do something, you down?" USA put his hands on his hips, face still in Canada's face.

"Have you asked mom and dad?" Canada asked, USA thought for a minute then went to whisper something to New Zealand, she responded with a nod 'no'.

"No, but they'd be cool with it! We wanna go to the mall and eat something good!" America pleaded, "and you're the only one who has money!" Ah, there it was. That's why USA wanted Canada to go.

"Please Canada!" New Zealand put her hands together like she was praying. America joined as well.

"I guess... but only if mom and dad are okay with it!" Canada finally got out of bed and New Zealand rushed out to go tell their parents, leaving just Canada and USA. "What about Australia? Will he be coming?" Canada asked, making his bed.

"Nah, he's at a friend's house. But really, dude..." America hugged his brother, "Thanks, Zeal's been down lately so I think a trip to the mall might help her feel better." Canada hugged his brother back with his face red like a tomato since he was shirtless.

"So thoughtful..." Canada thought before speaking, "I- it's no problem, really! I should be thanking you for coming up with the idea!" America let go of Canada and smiled.

"Psh, it's nothing!" America began walking to the doorway, "I'll see you when you're dressed, yeah?" Canada nodded in response.

America closed the door and Canada's soft expression quickly fell to a neutral, somewhat eerie expression. He felt the warmth of America's presence leave, making his room feel more gray and cold.

Canada did his hygiene needs and put on a flannel  with jeans and brown boots, topping it off with his signature hat. He made his way downstairs to see his two siblings sitting on the couch, New Zealand talking to her dad, UK, who's in a recliner reading the daily news with a cup of tea. America sat beside New Zealand and was on his phone, letting out a small smile every now and then. France, the sibling's mom, was in the kitchen cooking a type of pastries.

America noticed Canada and got up, New Zealand followed. "Bye mom, bye dad!" America waved before grabbing Canada by the hand and rushing him out the door before he could say anything. New Zealand grabbed the car keys on the way out and started the car. Canada blushed at America's grip on his hand.

"Stop going so fast!" Canada screamed, trying to keep up with America's running. Suddenly USA stopped, making Canada harshly bump into him. "Ow." Canada muttered. They were at the car and America got in the drivers seat, beckoning Canada to sit in the front passenger seat. Canada obliged and New Zealand sat in the back in the middle seat.

The car ride was fairly normal, talking about jokes, other countries, and old memories until a certain Russian came up in the conversation.

"Aw come on! You like him don't you?" New Zealand teased as America became flustered.

"Do not! I'd die before ever kissing that weirdo!" America lied through his teeth.

"Mhm... the tension between you two is so obvious don't even try to hide it!" New Zealand snickered as America's face was so red you could barely see his stripes. Canada's eyebrows furrowed the entire time, angrily looking out the window trying to avoid the conversation. He hated whenever America talked about his love life. Maybe he was jealous people were taking his brother away from him? No, Canada knew it was something more deeper and complex.

"Can we please stop talking about this." Canada's patience was running thin, "stop being mean you two, it's not nice." Canada crosses his arms and looked over to see his brother with an expression of confusion and worry, he felt his heart shrink.

"Sorry bro! You're right, I shouldn't be that way. Russia's a... 'decent' guy. Yeah, decent." America said, as if he wanted to say something different. Canada smiled and shook his head in satisfaction of having America so easily follow his commands. It felt, nice

The conversation continued on between USA and New Zealand but Canada looked out his window and thought about the previous conversation. He knew he always had an obsession with his brother but always just brushed it off as just really looking up to his brother. But recently, he started to feel more bold. What if he "liked" his brother? He wondered what would of happened if he let his hand go further down on America's back when they hugged or if-

"Canada!" America got his brother's attention, "you good? You seem kinda out of it." Canada snapped out of his thoughts and just stared confused for a minute until finally processing the question.

"Just a bit tired. Don't worry about me! I'm sure a cup of coffee would wake me up!" Canada cheerfully said while putting on a smile. America smiled back softly which made Canada feel like a blushing puddle. Canada turned back into thought.

"This is something more." Canada thought, "something I don't know if I've ever experienced before."
