It was nearly eleven when Kahdreg managed to get over to Avicia's home. They'd changed out of being Temma, or Kay, wiping down the make-up that had taken hours to put on and carefully packing away the outfit. When they left the club, sporting sunglasses and a baseball cap, no one bothered them. Though they could feel their co-workers grinning at their back.
They knew there was more in store for Kahdreg's evening, even if they didn't know the details.
Standing outside Avicia's apartment, staring at the door, a pit of anticipation and - maybe - uncertainty weighed heavily. It was a little... easier, if you were the one revealing something, they realized. Either the person accepted or didn't. It'd hurt if they didn't, of course, but it was out of your hands.
Now it was Kahdreg's turn to accept or turn away. Their stomach lurched under the pressure. They couldn't imagine Avicia doing anything to make them want her less, but there was a chance. There was always that chance.
With a heavy swallow, Kahdreg knocked on the door, trying to shake away their nerves.
From the depths of Avicia's apartment, her voice called, "I'm still getting ready, so just come in!"
Kahdreg's eyebrows furrowed as they pushed the door open. She had left hours ago and she still wasn't ready?
As they stepped in, setting their bag of expensive makeup and the earlier costumes on the floor, the orc made sure to close and lock the door. Over their shoulder, they called out to wherever Avicia was, "Not locking your door isn't very safe."
They could hear Avicia's shrug in her tone. "Even if it was an intruder, you were coming soon. Nothing to worry about."
Kahdreg snorted, trying not to feel pleased at her reliance on them. They glanced about, seeking out any particular changes. Part of Kahdreg wondered if Avicia was just going to make a steamy, romantic night of it all. But there were no rose petals or ambient music or... whatever it was that sold as romantic to the mainstream.
"Sooo," the orc said, shuffling a little further into the apartment. "Where's your thing?"
"The second bedroom," replied Avicia, after a moment's pause. Kahdreg blinked, eyebrows furrowing as they realized they hadn't even noticed the guest bedroom door was wide open. Every other time they'd been there, it had been firmly closed.
As Kahdreg mulled over Avicia calling it the 'second' bedroom, rather than 'guest bed,' they peered through the door. They weren't entirely sure what to expect but as soon as their brain registered what was in the room, their thoughts froze.
Their gaze traced over the array of items - sex toys - that flanked the bed. Proud displays of dildos, ranging in more accurate fleshy colors to bright neons, lined floating shelves. They weren't only human-esque phallic facsimiles, either. Orcish, Tauran, Lycan, Feline, Draconian, and more. So much more.
Boxes, ranging from small to large, lined the top of a small bookcase. On closer inspection, each one seemed to contain a vibrating toy of some sort, some with remotes. There was even a large picker wheel which, presumably, spun and a box of what appeared to be odds and ends for entertaining.
Heat crawled up Kahdreg's back and nipped their ears. Something was piecing together in the slush of their brain as they turned to take in more of the room.
A desk and computer sat opposite of a bed, which was adorned with rather silky looking silvery-white sheets. A webcam mounted atop the computer's screen, but there also seemed to be an additional three prongs jutting from the camera.
"Those three little things turn into smaller cameras that fly around. Allows for a bunch of angles, which is pretty handy."
Kahdreg jolted as Avicia came up behind them, abruptly turning to face the woman. The orc's brain sputtered again, trying to understand the shift in their reality.
