A couple of minutes before the last act of chapter eighteen, Naruko and Blair stared at the latest subject as they carted her off to get changed to their master's liking. They had to make sure that she was smarter than her human self and had to make adjustments so she wouldn't die so easily.
"Hm...What do you think we should changed her to?" Naruko asked. Leni felt her blood run cold when she heard Naruko say that. Change her? They wanted to change her into someone that even she couldn't recognize. Though she was scared, she never attempted to get out of her restraints...it would be pointless and she barely knew which way to go. Not to mention the scary people walking through the halls with abilities that would easily subdue, injure or kill her.
"What about a shapeshifter? Think about it...she could change forms to give us an edge over our enemies while making her family less suspicious." Blair said.
"We would also have to increase her intellect too while also preparing her for her new duties and role here. Besides...I know that you noticed how a certain someone had his eye on her." Naruko said.
"Then let's get to work...if we don't then we won't show any results today and get mocked." Blair said. The two women slowly started to take off the restraints bounding Leni, but not before threatening to rip her apart limb by limb if she tried to flee. They lead her to a green chamber which only sent shivers down Leni's whole body.
"Now Leni, you have been spared the gruesome fate that will befall the rest of your family. Don't get it wrong though, you will still be punished, but before that...we have to make you a great asset to our forces." Naruko said.
"Please...I don't want..." Leni said before she was shoved into the chamber and outfitted with a metal helmet, two needles and an oxygen mask. The duo then left while Leni slowly started to sob as this was her last moment to truly be herself. However...she knew that this has to do with her past actions against her brother who was unfairly kicked out of their house. Before she could regret her past actions, Leni felt some extreme pain as unknown chemicals entered her bloodstream. As she could hear something slowly build up, Leni had one tear going down a side of her face and before she could be changed into someone else...she had one thought going into her mind:
I'm sorry Linky.
At the same time, Ronnie Anne was sitting in the cafeteria with a scared look on her face. She had gained back her eye, limbs and organs...only to have them removed over and over again. Each time more painful than the last...this time, she managed to lock herself into the cafeteria and hope that this would be enough to keep those ghost children away from her.
"I can't believe that I have to suffer through this." She said before a huge bang was heard outside the door. They were trying to break in...only for the doors to hold them back. However, Ronnie Anne knew that it wouldn't last...though she could try to use the vents to possibly make an escape. As she did so, a certain girl was walking through the school with some weapons on her. She was ordered to be here to help with the submission of Ronnie Anne.
"Hm...So they sent you here, Bebe?" Tori asked. Bebe nodded in an emotionless manner since she was broken by the cruel words that came her sister. She hated her. Hated her for using her to her own advantage and destroying the bond that was so important to her. She followed every order without any resistance which included taking more subjects to join the new world order.
"They wanted me to help with the submission of sister since she has managed to still keep a stubborn attitude despite everything that is happening." Bebe said.
"I see. Your sister is extremely stubborn which makes breaking her a challenge. Though...we have gotten close with Sachiko's ghost who haunt these halls and that horrible song, she is still not giving in. Which is why, we think that you could be the key to break her." Tori said.
"Then let's get started then." Bebe said with a creepy grin on her face. This was her chance to get revenge against the sister who destroyed her trust and mind by her cruel words. As she followed Tori, she started to think of ways to break her. Meanwhile, Leni walked out the chamber with a new look and personality. She was loyal to her new mistress and would do anything to please even if it meant...destroying the family that she once loved dearly.
