Formerly called Broken Together but I wasn't a huge fan of the name. May change again but less likely.
Warning for onscreen OC death
(update 10/22/23 coming back to this:  This is almost two years old, and no longer fully canon. The OCs in question have collectively decided that they did Not die and managed to retcon their way out of the universe XD. Also, as a quick clarification, this was written WELL before ep. 30. Mango had his staff and the creative block to start; and Minecraft mechanics work on the Interspace as well.)

Purple was originally from a Minecraft mod, created a few years before the internet attacks started. It wasn't big at all- just the five of them, helping new players figure out the finer points of the game. Silverstrike and Ripple were Animated siblings, donated from a friend of the Creator of their site; but the other three- Turquoise, Lime, and Purple herself- were CG.

When not actively in Minecraft, the five of them chilled on the website the mod was downloaded off of. They played board games, waved to the occasional Players checking out their mod (which was pretty infrequent, so they got really excited when someone was actually there) and talked to each other about anything they could think of.

Silverstrike and Ripple, being Animated, had powers- superstrength and water manipulation, respectively. They were also a number of years older than the rest of the group, followed by Lime, then Purple, and Turquoise- but they had only started Minecraft when they joined the mod, when Lime was created. The four older sticks had all but mastered their favorite biomes, and they were teaching Turquoise, who was only one but already thoroughly enjoying himself.

Purple was an organized explorer, and she knew how to craft or where to find literally anything in the game. While she liked the Overworld, it felt boring sometimes, and she was particularly good at dealing with the other dimensions- the Nether and the End. They were dangerous, sure, but they were also really cool, and had some wild loot (even if she sometimes needed Silverstrike to help with the actual fighting).

Life was good.

Until 2011. When two bitterly angry stick figures with the powers of God and anime on their side decided to destroy the system, and everyone in it.

The early attacks shook the world. Dark and Chosen were a ferocious team, and one even the powerful sticks who lived on the main animation sites weren't necessarily prepared to deal with. Within a year, the duo had leveled both Stickpage and Newgrounds in a series of brutal attacks, and the whole Internet was in shock. No one was quite sure how to stop them- or even what they wanted, besides just destruction.

For two years, the five of them watched news about the attacks- and the trend was worrying. Dark and Chosen seemed to be targeting sites with stick figures on them; specifically Animated ones, probably because they had powers, and were the Internet's best shot at resisting the takeover. Silverstrike and Ripple were both Animated; but no one wanted them to leave, even if it might have been marginally safer. They were in this together, for better or worse, and none of them would have it any other way.

Purple desperately hoped that it would all pass soon, that everything would blow over and leave them unscathed. The other sticks on her site were family to her, whether literally or not.

That hope was literally shattered- along with the firewall- on one random morning, when their internet portal exploded and both Dark and Chosen strode menacingly onto the site. The five of them were playing cards, and no one had time to react before twin fireballs destroyed the reload button.

No going back, then.

Silver immediately leapt up, accidentally knocking his chair over, and went straight for Chosen: tackling him to the ground and trying to wrestle him into a pin. Lime ducked under a laser, and Purple drew her sword, yanking Turquoise behind her. Ripple threw down two buckets of water to create an infinite source, and pulled up her hands into fists, her eyes glowing blue as the water responded to her movements.
