I take out my phone dialing the number for the taxi.
After two rings a cheerful voice is heard, " hello , how can I help you ", the guys asks.
" I would like a taxi ", I say putting on my converse, my phone squished between my neck and cheek.
" Address?", he asks.
" 26 Mainor street ", I say walking out the front door and closing it behind me soundlessly.
" A taxi will be there to pick you up in ten minutes", the guy said.I put my phone into my jacket, turning to my house.
This is the last time I will stand here, the last time I will look at the red door and the last time I will leave it.
I take out the neatly folded paper I wrote yesterday and sit down on the perch , unfolding reading through it again for the thousandth time, making sure I said everything I wanted to say to Calum.
I will miss him, a lot ,but I know it's the right thing to do.As I sit on the stairs of the porch it feels like a dream.
I can't believe I'm actually going to finally do it tonight.
Everyday I used to count the days to today, the 2 of February, where it will all finally stop.
I would like to say Im not nervous, but I am.After a few minutes, I see a white taxi pulling up in front of my house and stand up pulling up the hoodie of my jacket over my head.
I open the door and turn my head to the window quickly, scared the make up I tried to cover my eye with wouldn't work."So do you just want to stay here? Im okay with that I mean I hate driving around at night, you never know what kind of creatures could jump at you ", the driver says who Judging by his voice is about my age, maybe a bit older.
" Um- I..Id like to go to house 56, Salvatore street and then t-to the north bridge ", I say playing with my hands careful not to look at him. While he drives to Calums house, that is quite far away, I try to remember every single detail of the neighborhood, wondering if the neighbors will even notice I'm gone, probably not.
I cut a quick glance at the driver while he isn't looking and wow. I don't think I ever saw someone that pretty, with full plump pink lips, bright red hair, an eye brow piercing and a jawline sculptured by gods.
I felt like a rat next to him.
He stops the car in front of the familiar house and for a second a forget about my eye and turn to him.
" Uh, I'll be right back", I say quickly already reaching for the door handle.
" What happened to your eye?", he asks suddenly looking at me so I can see his eyes for the first time.
They're a color of green I never saw before, a mix of mint green and dark patches. Beautiful.
I panicked for a second remembering his question and looked at my lap.
" I um f-fell down t-the stairs a few days ago", I say , it being the first thing that popped into my head.
" Oh ", he says, his perfect plump lips forming an o.I step out the car quickly almost tripping and run to the side of the house where a big tree is.
Taking back a few steps i make sure the window is open a bit, it is. For once Im happy calum is an idiot that leaves his window open in February.
I start climbing up the tree slowly making sure that letter is still in my jacket, until i'm a meter away from his room.
I shudder, pulling my jacket tighter against my body from the cold wind knowing my hair must look like a bird nest from the wind.
I can't throw the paper inside his room, the wind is too strong.
I curse under my breath taking of my jacket and throwing it through the open widow with the paper in if.
It lands on the floor, the metal zip clocking slightly but Calum is too much of a deep sleeper to notice that.I close the window before I get back down not wanting him to get a cold and walk to the taxi thankful for the heater the driver has on.
"The north bridge right?", he asks me.
" Yes please ", I say.He presses a button on the player and music starts to play from the speakers.
Is this the real life ?
Is this just fantasy ?
